a lot of reddit posts about this. Basicly you can ask the retailer if they match prices then show them these deals to get it cheaper.

Is there any chance to get sc2 in the EU for 10 Euro? Do stores here have this available too?

I just called a Toys R Us earlier trying to get Skyrim (sold out in all local stores **sadface**). It is a legit deal for sc2 and a few other big games for PC, you can even check the Toys R Us site and see the prices. According to the person I talked to at a store they are getting rid of ALL PC games they carry so they are putting them all on clearance until they are all sold. So I would definitely check your local Toys R Us and see if they have it in stock. Good luck in your searching.

You can get any copy of sc2 and just simply ask blizzard to relocalize your client to the preferred server (say something like your on an extended business trip or what have you)

Nah too much effort, also I dont wanna buy anything on the internet that has to ship over from the US, that would probably also cost money.

This is kindda clever. Although a lot of players still play WoL the real money maker will be HotS... The more WoL accounts --> the more HotS accounts

However, I'd love to know if this offer is available for EU

Would it be profitable to buy $10 WoL copies and then resell them with a HoTS expansion in them when they are released?

This is a good chance to get some friends to buy the game. The more people we have pick up a copy the better for Esports. I doubt the best SC2 player in the West has even picked up the game.

Considering you'd have to pay for the HotS expansion on the account then sell it maybe, but the profit wouldn't really be worth the trouble.

Do you have PayPal? I was going to head up there and pick up some copies of various games anyway so I could pick you one up for 11 USD(counting taxes) if.all you want is the code.

2nd Account for SC2 is really stupid... HotS will have "Global Play" and if you are too terrible for your league ask on of your friends if you can use his inactive bronze-account. I bet nearly everyone has a friend who bought the game - played a bit and quit after a few games raped in bronze.

By that logic, a lot of progamers are pretty stupid for having multiple accounts eh?

not everyone has a friend like u said, some people just play alone like me ( all my friends like to play MMO and MOBA than RTS ). Yea and since that's reason why they sale it $10 anyway

@ Stutters695 : Can u help me too please ?

You think they pay for them all? A lot of them get them exactly the way he described... I have 2 accounts from friends who went inactive. One kid played 20-30 teams games and like 20 1v1s and realized he couldn't 6 pool out of bronze. Another friend gave up after the last queen buffs (he was Terran lol) I could easily get 3-4 more but why would I?

just went around trying to pick about 5-10 copies up, either no where had them or no where would price match that many copies.

just for the record- my local best buy WOULD price match one copy, so that is still a viable option for anybody looking to pick this game up

I'm not 100% sure on this since I've never done it but people mentioned that you can contact blizzard and have them change the region as a one time thing if you tell them you bought the NA instead of EU.

I would like a copy of sc2, ideally the whole box and all as I like to collect the whole thing.
Please PM me if you are able to ship it to Canada, and I'd be willing to paypal you the money after.

Thanks

I nor Sophia mentioned paying for the accounts being a factor at all. Just having multiple accounts in general. And how do you know many pros get their secondary accounts from their low tier friends who no longer play? You must have a lot of connections and talk to many pros day in and day out.

"Home > Video Games > Nintendo DS > DS Games > All Nintendo DS Games "

LOL, look at the category they put SC2 in. It probably is related to clearing out PC games (not clearing out console games, I guess?)

PS: This doesn't look applicable to Canada (stores are closed today too not that it's too relevant) — Canadian website seems to have cleared out nearly all PC games already.

I agree with Streetwise, this is perfect to get a buddy into the game. I think it was even suggested in the article: http://www.swagling.com/toys-r-us-sells-starcraft-2-for-10/

I've been playing the game for years on a buddy's account who lost interest basically the second week of release. lol. I kinda want an account to call my own, me thinks now is the time.

That's what I'm thinking, Blizzard games usually stay at the AAA price point and taper down as such. I feel you could easily flip a whole bunch of copies for 20$ a piece.

Best bet is going to be getting price matched at Best Buy. I went to a few Toys R Us stores today once I saw this thread, and no locations had anymore. Either they're getting snagged by others, or Toys R Us has run out of copies to sell and they want whatever leftover scraps out asap...

I would gladly sell my Diablo 3 account to you Giku. Unfortunately it's tied to my SC2 battle.net account and I have no idea how to remove it...

Well I tried calling all the Toys R Us stores within 10 miles but they all put me on hold for 10 fucking hours after multiple tries so I gave up lol. Best Buy said they would have to confirm the game is in stock at Toys R Us to price match...which clearly wouldn't happen since they are too busy to answer the phone apparently.

ive just checked bestbuy and future shop both have the "price match guarantee" but they both say it must be a Canadian retailer. now toysrus is technically a retailer in Canada but its not the Canadians with the sale...maybe you could trick someone who was sleeping on the day job into verifying the price on the .com instead of .ca website(they have to verify the sale is listed at this price before they match it and cut 10% off)

actually now that i think about it, what if you got a price quote from one retailer (and they beat it by 10%) then you take that quote to the other retailer...they are both required to take 10% off and just keep doing that...maybe get the game for free???

I just went to Best Buy and they told me they couldn't price match the toys-r-us price since it wasn't a 'sale price' but rather a 'clearance price'. I tried multiple cashiers and almost got one of them to sell it to us, but one of her colleagues came in last second and told her not to. That motherfucker. Apparently the higher-ups at Best Buy got wind of our methods and put some bullshit new policy in place.

Why the need to insult? His comment says those are review comments, does that make them key selling points? And "good sound" as well as "graphics" are subjective. But you go buy your CD, something that helps you rid some anger perhaps?

I second this. Just left Best Buy after almost having the cashier give the $9.98 price but she was like "wow thats a deal, let me call someone". The manager said he heard they were doing this today but they don't price match from ToysRus.COM, just Toys R Us retail stores. Another manager came over and said they don't match clearance prices, just sales prices.

I thought for sure my "Ok, then I'll take my money to Toys R Us" line would get them to just do it but they were fine with letting me walk out. Went over to Toys R Us and they have 0 PC games in the store. Attempted to get Walmart to price match and they won't do online ads, its gotta be an actual ad from the store.

Oh well, I missed a great deal, is what it is. To bad its all out of stock online :/

Good luck at your local stores.

Great news for those that can do it. I wonder how some Best Buys seem to get away with not giving the deal based on some semantical bullshit, like thats a "clearance sale, not a regular sale."

People should grab all these screens of receipts as proof that Best Buys are doing it. There's another one here thats pretty clear and easy to read. You could use it a leverage when arguing with one of the more stubborn stores.

That's great point. You should ask any Best Buy employee to point out where it says that Toys R Us is offering a clearance sale. If they can't then you could argue that it's a regular sale and they must price match.

Actually it IS listed under clearance on their website. That's how I found it anyways.

Fact is even if a store says they have some sort of price match "guarantee" I don't think they're ever obligated to fulfill it, even if they don't have a clause in their statement saying that they have the right to refuse any offer.

I don't see how a store has to price match something, even if it's their standard policy, but I could maybe be wrong?

On October 09 2012 13:01 skyflyfish wrote:

Wow... they were even open? I didn't think they'd be open on thanksgiving day.
Shouldn't the price have been 5$ though? their price beat guarantee says they'll beat it by 10% of the difference, and 10$ minus 10% of (60 minus 10) is 5$.
It would have to be $11.80 to be 7$.

I'm a bit surprised they did the beat, considering that it's not the Canadian website, but I guess the fact it's not Canadian isn't obvious at all, and if the salesperson doesn't care much (doesn't call manager or something) then it's pretty understandable I guess. Personally I'm surprised why so many retail websites even bother having separate .ca websites when they have a presence on both sides of the border (although I guess there are reasons — newegg.com seems to have different availability of products and even prices than newegg.ca, but I'm thinking that maybe that's an unintentional after-effect of having the sites separated)

That's a completely different deal. They are two separate promotions.

A. Buy Pokemon Black 2 or White 2 and get 70% off a game priced at $19.98 or more.
B. Select computer titles are now $9.98 for a limited time.

Although I know the game is out of stock in most places, if anyone that is going to a store to buy the game could get a copy for me as well(I just want the code), I'd pay through paypal. New player here.

Went to Target today and they said they could price match if I had a printed ad. I might be able to pick up the remaining copies if I can find an ad but I don't know how I'll get one...

That's a completely different deal. They are two separate promotions.

A. Buy Pokemon Black 2 or White 2 and get 70% off a game priced at $19.98 or more.
B. Select computer titles are now $9.98 for a limited time.

?!?!?!? I can't seem to find that deal anywhere online or in stores...feelin' a little Twilight Zone right now.

Here's the article where I found the Toys-R-Us link.

I know someone who works at Toys R Us and this is a real clearance on most PC games. Unfortunately new shipments of these games for some stores haven't come in for months so your best chance to get SC2 for this price is to find a store that will price match the clearance price as people have suggested as finding an R Us that actually has it in stock is probably harder than getting to GM in a week with never playing SC2 before

also if you go to toysrus.com and type in pc games it'll bring up a full list of the games so u can check to see if there are any other games u want to get price matched somewhere

Just went to Best Buy and got the price match with no trouble! Sorry to all you guys who weren't able to, but for those who still want to try, there is hope!

I can't get to a local store for a copy, so I'm wondering if anybody could grab me a copy (either for anything listed in this post, PayPal, or a combination of both). It would be much appreciated if you sent a message if you could ^_^

I wouldn't pay 10 bucks for the NA copy. Played on it for a year and hitting masters but its now polluted with maphackers spoiling the game for me.

Moved to KR server a week ago and it's like falling in love again!

I just bought it at bestbuy for $10. I showed them the toysrus website to price match and they said they would, but the game rang up as $10 without even price matching.
