I'm surprised some of the players like Ret even signed a contract like that. I am also surprised by this. Did anyone actually read the contract? And why did they refuse to send a copy of the contract to a 3rd party for review? I'm no lawyer, but can't see why this would matter. If you are afraid of your contract terms getting out, it probably is a sketchy contract. As noted by someone else in the thread, every player received a different contract. This, to an extent, explains why some players didn't find anything wrong with their contracts while others did.
SO again, depending on the player it´s the contract they get? If you are well known a.k.a ret then offer good contracts, but if you are unknown and naive then take as much advantage of him as possible?

Just woke up. Last page I checked was 34, any1 got a nice summary post of what happened since then in this thread? :D

You negotiate contracts with an individual on an individual basis. There's a reason most companies in the U.S. prohibit their employees from discussing pay; I believe disclosing pay is a valid (legal) reason for termination. If one employee is performing better than another and you give him $5,000 more per year, and another employee finds out, he might be pissed, resentful, etc. or demand that he be compensated equally as much.
try again..
Under the federal National Labor Relations Act, the NLRB and the courts have held, for several years, that an employee discussing salary with co-workers is a protected right, and an employer may NOT prohibit it.
seriously, sick of ppl pulling bs out of their asses and try to pass them as factual arguments.. not to mention all the distorted straw mans and slippery slopes..

MoW shows a press release with no acclaration of any of what Fuzer posted. And still no real aproach to the matter.

So what, depending on the player, thats the contract you make? If you see him young and naive, you take advantage of that and if a known player comes then give him "good treat"? . What is this?!!!
He asked for the contract to be amended, and they did so..

600 Euros a month isn't anything at all

At 600 euro a month, it was already a scam, even without the horrible streaming hours. I wonder if everybody had to sign the same contract, because I find that hard to believe.

thats like 900 US dollars? pretty expensive for one person i think
livin on my own i paid 400

someone posted the GDP for poland is 13.5k so...lets say you stay a year...you pay them half a years average income...not bad.

I think MoW's reputation is crushed after this.....don't know how long it will be before they regain the trust of public

Average gross salary in Poland is 870 €. You still think it's not that bad?

So we're pretty much still att page 1? Cool...
Read the statement... What a load of bull... ESFI, whats up with your journalism?

so...Fuzer was not able to negotiate his contract...well thats unfortunate...other players really like MoW. I dont see any problem here...Fuzer is just pissed...and thats okay. But starting TL Thread for that knowing that the community will start famous witchhunt process...

At the end it will be like so often in esport this day. A combination of bad PR business on the Team(house) side and wrong expectation form the player.
I´m dont saying that fuser is a lier, but i dont think that Ret is going to this house with such a bad contract and without overlooking it by the TL Team managers.

Notice I used the word "believe"? How the fuck is that trying to pass it as a factual argument? And according to https://www.law.upenn.edu/journals/jbl/articles/volume6/issue1/GelyBierman6U.Pa.J.Lab.&Emp.L.121(2003).pdf, despite it indeed being illegal and held up in federal court, many employers continue to maintain these policies or prohibiting their employees from discussing pay.
It was clearly in response to "why is there any reason..." question. And the reason I gave is a legitimate one and accepted - the U.S. courts just deemed that employee ability to collectively bargain trumps that reason.

a gym? k, that's 30$ a month. Buddies to train SC2 with? comes with the game. Cooker? comes with most appartements. A garden? what for..?
High speed connection? 70$ a month in Canada.
Nah, 600 Euros for shitty food, and the obligation to stream is pretty bad.

all those extras should of been payed through the streaming thing. It costs the guy basically 700$ for a room there. Pretty much insanity if you ask me.
