Why don't you think progamers should earn that much money? EG has sponsors. Sponsors pay EG money so that their brands are exposed. They do this because they want to sell more products. EG will attract more attention and therefore will be able to command better sponsorship deals when they employ more popular players. What it really boils down to is that these progamers are selling a ton of memory, energy drinks, solid state drives, etc. They aren't being paid to play StarCraft... it just appears that way. They are being paid to promote products. Would you say that a top car salesman shouldn't be making $100,000+ a year? (they do, btw. Atleast in the US) It's the same idea, really. Somewhere along the line, lots of smart people have crunched these numbers and have decided that $96,000 (or whatever the contract will be) is a fair amount of compensation for Stephano, which means that he is generating much more revenue than that in the long term. | ||
