But think of all the losses from the... well losses. Can stephano beat his deadliest opponent yet... the EG curse?

Well it's not exactly THAT hard to come by. My parents are both doctors, my dad's an anesthesiologist who makes ~300 000 a year, or close to that (before taxes I'd assume), and mom's a GP who makes around 100 000 a year. Some of their friends are lawyers, some doctors, pilots, etc. Most of those jobs that you really want growing up pay quite well.

I'm not saying that 8k a month isn't just totally fantastic for a 19 year old kid, but it's not exactly "best player in the western world" kind of money either.

"8k/month pretty much makes you rich"

"Well, my parents make more. They're both doctors"

Oh, you lucky man. Oh you.

"50k/month pretty much makes you rich"

"Well, my parents make more. They're both CEO's. They have celebrity friends who make a lot more. It's not THAT hard to come by."

and the tax rate of winnings $$$ (from tournaments)?
I cant think that stephano has to take 2x tax rate. example: He won a MLG Tournament (25k $), then after american tax rate, it can be 20k$ and then after france tax ~15k$.
Is this true with "double tax"?!

It looks to me like 'winnings' can be filed as 'income' in France, as they include just about any source of money you can get in it aside from things like inheritance. But French income taxes on international income only apply to people residing in France (citizen or not). I don't know how much is taxed if he's in France, goes to MLG, wins it, then goes back to France. But it looks like if he were living in the EG lair, he wouldn't be taxed on winnings from companies who aren't French.

Well, that would explain it. I hope you realize being a doctor isn't exactly your average joe right? I think you're a little spoiled considering your situation and I recommend you consult at least a money magazine before you start making silly statements. Yeah, it's not "OMFG he makes more than Warren buffet" but it's at least top 20% earner and far above the average. You make it sound like hes barely getting by with that kind of money, but I'm not surprised considering your a RICH KID. Go out in the world a little.

Anyway lol TL millionaires. We got a lot of them here I think.

100k is not the highest salary you can get of course, but in the SC2 progaming scene, it's anyway a good(great) one, that's the point (Stephano is not a Doctor, not a layer, he's a SC2 progamer).

People also need to look a little at the context here. He's a 19 year old with no living expenses, no car payments, no children, nothing. That $100,000 goes directly into his pocket along with his streaming revenue and his winnings. If a family man who makes $100,000 can live very comfortably, Stephano's salary could go even further.

This is so important. And considering his other income sources and what he's already earned, Stephano is going to have something like a $300k-$400k head start at the age of 20. That could mean 10+ years off retirement if invested responsibly.

What's France's tax rate though?

From 2009, income tax including international income
1 Unit (=1 Adult household) Rate
Below €5,875 0%
From €5,875 to €11,720 5.5%
From €11,720 to €26,030 14%
From €26,030 to €69,783 30%
Beyond €69,783 41%

Ironically, he'd earn more money if they only paid him $89,300 a year.

No, its composed out of segments. So everything above 69 is 41%, not the total amount.

I could have used commas but then it would have been incorrect for people to fill in what I didn't say. Though, not having understood absolutely everything yet; I have to agree with still struggling with education.

lawl its a common misconception thats all.

say 10% tax when make 0-1000$ and 20% tax when make 1000$ - 2000$ and 30% when make 2000$- 3000$
that means if you make $2800, your tax rate is 10% of the first $1000, then 20% on the next $1000, then 30% only for the last 800$

not 30% * 2800
Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Will stephano be the one to finally break the EG curse of destroying top talent

100k a year, you could probably buy a BW B-Teamer for that. Still no were near Flash's 450k a year but hey sc2 is still new.

Why you guys talking about taxes, if Stephano pay to much taxes he just signs up for an off shore company or leave the country. It's not that hard today...

What a useless shit show this has devolved into. Can mods close until EG makes the official announcement with a banner and press release? I'm tired of reading about how everyone on TL makes six figures, is GM, and has a thirteen inch dick. It's fucking exhausting.

I'm not a French tax lawyer. Please correct whatever is wrong with it.

Nothing to do with France. ALL tax systems pretty much work this way.
