Depends on what field you choose once you're out of med school.

In Denmark 8k a month is average for a full-time job, higher than the minimum, but I think it's even below average

ROFL. you must be kidding...

in 2006, looks at charts everywhere, salaries has been rising immensly since then, 5,4 to 8k should be no problem really. Find some updated information before you link it, rather than something 6 years old....

And before you try and pull a typical sample size argument, if you've taken statistics (which I have, around 6 classes), you'd know it's more than large enough. Biggest issue is only if it is a SRS.

~$61,500 assuming that you can average the different numbers, which you can't, because we don't know which cities have more people reporting.

dude people living in capitals get paid a shitload more because the life cost more, this statistic doesnt mean anything its irevelant in Paris people get 25% more paid than the average of the country ! guess why its because to live it cost more and because u have either unemployed people in the "sums" (they arent sums but huge dirty, ugly buildings where most immigrants/ son of immigrants live => drugs dealers etc...) or people working in huge companies that make a lot of money

$4.5-5k is probably a good estimate for average montly salary. Teachers get paid around $5k.
Anyway, Denmark isn't a rich country because taxes are high and prices are high. On a PPP basis its the least wealthy of the north-west european countries.

Well it's not exactly THAT hard to come by. My parents are both doctors, my dad's an anesthesiologist who makes ~300 000 a year, or close to that (before taxes I'd assume), and mom's a GP who makes around 100 000 a year. Some of their friends are lawyers, some doctors, pilots, etc. Most of those jobs that you really want growing up pay quite well.

I'm not saying that 8k a month isn't just totally fantastic for a 19 year old kid, but it's not exactly "best player in the western world" kind of money either.

Well, that would explain it. I hope you realize being a doctor isn't exactly your average joe right? I think you're a little spoiled considering your situation and I recommend you consult at least a money magazine before you start making silly statements. Yeah, it's not "OMFG he makes more than Warren buffet" but it's at least top 20% earner and far above the average. You make it sound like hes barely getting by with that kind of money, but I'm not surprised considering your a RICH KID. Go out in the world a little.

Anyway lol TL millionaires. We got a lot of them here I think.

100k is not the highest salary you can get of course, but in the SC2 progaming scene, it's anyway a good(great) one, that's the point (Stephano is not a Doctor, not a layer, he's a SC2 progamer).

People also need to look a little at the context here. He's a 19 year old with no living expenses, no car payments, no children, nothing. That $100,000 goes directly into his pocket along with his streaming revenue and his winnings. If a family man who makes $100,000 can live very comfortably, Stephano's salary could go even further.

If Stephano repeats what he did the past year results wise and with his streaming, add in salary and you are looking at probably $250,000-$300,000. That is absolutely incredible for esports, especially outside of Korea.

I'd be surprised if you could make more than that in Korea. The amount of money in Korea is really not that high. It's high for the very top players, but other than that it seems to be relatively low and not even comparable to the foreign scene. That's why so many Koreans want to sign with a foreigner team.

Well I'm talking about the top end Kepsa players. Their salaries are in that range. But yeah regardless that is a fantastic amount of money for a single player.

This is so important. And considering his other income sources and what he's already earned, Stephano is going to have something like a $300k-$400k head start at the age of 20. That could mean 10+ years off retirement if invested responsibly.

8k/month pretty much makes you rich. seriously... where do all the millionaires in this forum come from? what kind of expenses do you have that makes you feel like 8k can't cover them?

This is so important. And considering his other income sources and what he's already earned, Stephano is going to have something like a $300k-$400k head start at the age of 20. That could mean 10+ years off retirement if invested responsibly.

What's France's tax rate though?

For that salary it should be nearly 50% I think.

What's France's tax rate though?

From 2009, income tax including international income
1 Unit (=1 Adult household) Rate
Below €5,875 0%
From €5,875 to €11,720 5.5%
From €11,720 to €26,030 14%
From €26,030 to €69,783 30%
Beyond €69,783 41%

Ironically, he'd earn more money if they only paid him $89,300 a year.

and the tax rate of winnings $$$ (from tournaments)?
I cant think that stephano has to take 2x tax rate. example: He won a MLG Tournament (25k $), then after american tax rate, it can be 20k$ and then after france tax ~15k$.
Is this true with "double tax"?!
