Except, as discussed over and over again and shown by the actual statistics, this is just a huge exaggeration/ myth and not really different than all teams and players in general. Everyone has their ups and downs, and the EG players who were good before being on EG still generally continue to do well... they just don't win every single tournament (because that's not possible).
