As emotionally invested as people are on this topic, TL rules still apply. That includes flaming and ad hominem attacks. |

Too many people in this thread are focused and tunnel-visioned on how the girl in this is a "bad person" and solely responsible for fucking everything up.
That couldn't be more far from the truth, however. If Destiny was acting like a civilized grown-up, none of this would have ever happened. His behavior is what ultimately started the domino effect that led to him getting the boot. Not hers.

Would you rather have the small pile or the big pile sitting in your room? I would rather have neither. Of course, everyone would rather have neither, but in some cases (such as this), one has to choose and I'm pretty sure anyone with a semi-functional thought process would say the small pile. Nope, both can be avoided, and should have. Both were in the wrong, way in the wrong, extremely wrong, fighting fire with fire wrong. Destiny is not less wrong just because her reaction was more wrong.

Tiger Woods based his image around being a good kind of whole, family guy. Destiny has no such deception at the heart of his appeal. He is who is he is and is pretty unashamed about it. Sponsors in the case of Mr Woods withdrew because of the discrepancy between Wood's public face and his private behaviour. At least that's how I read it. I don't see how it is any relevant how destiny based his images. The sponsors that are behind Destiny's payroll are most likely all professionals that expects similar things just like the sponsors for tiger woods.

A bit confused as I very rarely bother to post on TL, only when something boggles my mind completely, I don't like sharia law, but if you talk about him, thaaaat is maybe a bit too much as well.

Right.
You guys are marketable. Your team is marketable. Your team makes a portion of their money based off sponsors. If you hurt your image, you could hurt the companies that support you. I don't condemn Destiny for doing this, but its obvious and the right decision for Root.
People do dumb shit all the time. I know I have.

Sponsors KNEW (or should have) what Destiny was like when they took him on board. Indeed the post from one of the sponsors acknowledged that his stream persona was desirable to them.
Again, fuck E-sports growing to a large size if the people within it are expected to act like saints to achieve that.

Besides the fact that he's really not that famous, that's a total crock. This isn't him doing lines off a stripper's back in Vegas, it's a private convo that could've been obtained through questionable means.

I can't find how that conversation between Destiny, TT1, and Fayth was leaked. Does anyone know? I feel like that makes all the difference here.

I'll put it this way...
The second you join a team and become a sponsored player, you are thereby giving up your right to act "how you please". The second you make that choice to be a sponsored player and become part of an organization, you are then representing your team, and your sponsors. You are then making a choice and commitment to act and present yourself NOT how you want, but in the way that is in the best interest of your team and sponsors
So if you don't want to have to give up how you are, or how you want to act, then don't fucking join a sponsored team. Destiny doesn't seem to understand this phenomenon.. But rather thinks he should be able to act as he chooses even if he is under a contract.
Simple.

With no consideration for the possibility that those people might be dead wrong?

Both are in the wrong. But, hopefully you're able to understand the difference between sharing data privately and sharing data publicly. What Destiny did was share data he had in his possession in a private forum, while Bluetea shared data she had, as revenge, publicly.
So, if Destiny acted in a childish manner by talking about sex with his friends (the horror!) what does that make Bluetea for getting revenge by ruining Destiny's career? Hmm?
Again, both are guilty, but hopefully you're able to understand for different reasons.
