An appropriate response is a pretty key part of how affairs tend to be settled. Especially legally. 'My feelings are hurt' is not justification for what was done here. Sure, Destiny could have not done something in private. Alternatively, the person (bluetea) who turned this into a public issue could have not turned this into a public issue.
If my 'life was at danger from emotionally hurting someone', that wouldn't stop them being charged for murder if they actually did anything. And it won't stop people from condemning what bluetea did here.
