People always mention how KESPA B teamers must feel well asleast they get paid. I am sure MKP is super excited about this.
There is more issues and history than just that. They feel betrayed by the power that is KeSPa. They more than willingly held up their end of the bargain, but KeSPa didn't. Not to mention the past power plays that have let KeSPa control everything in the past. It is the greatest thing because it is standing up to KeSPa and not letting them dictate their will onto the scene.

You are right, we should be fine with only kespa leagues running with the whole kespa vs gom storylines, whilst the gsl loses viewers left and right to people that want to see the highest quality games instead.

I wanted to make a point about this all along but never bothered. What salary? aside from A-teamers who are constantly showing up on broadcasts, rest get "salaries" that's not much more than an allowance, and even that's from the individual teams. There were interviews back when match fixing happened that can back this up(about how players play 10~12 or more hours a day but still get paid crap). gsl pays code a/s to help players out as well, what's the difference here?

lol, I saw nestea's name. FUCKING BOSS! We have found him. The hero Sc2 needs but the one we don't deserve

The ESF move was only natural. Imagine you are in a sc2 game and send your workers off to mine at another base, which you believe to be the base of your ally. Next, you realize that the person sitting at that base is not your ally, but your opponent. What do you do? Obviosly you pull your workers back!

Next question: How would MLG react?

And so the playerbase is divided.. great job Kespa really...

We all know what antics Kespa pulled in BW.. Never again plz. And gom had a good intent, willing to close the gap with Kespa, and create 1 big scene in korea with both players. They talked to KESPA and signed a contract / agreement on how things would go in korea. After that, OSL recruits GSL players for their tournement because these guys are the top of the foodchain right now. And then GSL tries to get KESPA players in their tournement, which they prior agreed on, and KESPA just says that they're not ready. So while KESPA feels they are ready to compete with GSL players in WCS korea and their own league OSL, they don't feel they can compete with GSL players in GSL. Not for 1 season, but for the next 2 seasons at least.
I say GSL is kinda in their right to pull out their players as well, I'm not sure if the Esports federation told the players to leave the OSL, or that the players decided it themselves. But since we all know how KESPA tries to pull the whole korean scene to themselves, instead of competing with GOM, i fully agree with the GSL players.

Knowing MLG, they probably side with KeSPA. Or not say anything and see what happens since no KeSPA player for today anyway.

Looking back at what happened on gomtv classic, we are worried that this is something that could happen all over again well in the future. I understand that they are upset that the Kespa players are not playing in GSL. But let's be honest, they don't need to, and I think that the hype that could be built between the remergence of Kespa vs Gom could be a great storyline for esports in Korea. However, that is not the main reason why. You can't fight fire with fire. ESF (up until now) has done nothing to upset the Korean fans, they are not at fault for anything, but right now, you can say ESF is not being any better than Kespa. ESF is denying as much kespa vs gom than kespa is, except, this time, the OSL will not be able to run without the already qualified ESF players. Pulling players out of a qualifier, although for reasons that make many people wonder, is not as bad as completely ruining a tournament. (which is essentially what ESF has done with the OSL). They just made this situation a whole lot more complicated than it actually needed to be. Such rash decisions are not only hurting the fans, but also the players and the coaches. I obviously know that kespa is the main entity to blame here, but ESF is not making the matters any better by pulling out of the OSL. Anyways, it seems like Blizzard is coming to try to resolve things, it would have been nice to know their input before ESF decided to pull out of the OSL. Blizzard, please come to the rescue. PS: we want LAN
I would say that a non-kespa Starcraft entity in Korea is finally using the leverage they have to show Kespa they can't do whatever they want anymore.

I'm sure they're happy since they already got fucked over by Kespa.

So stupid. I guess the "Western" medieval way of having different big tourneys and small weekly cups ,organized by different "Kings" all over the world (IEM/DREAMHACK/ASSEMBLY/MLG/NASL/......) is way cooler than this bi/tri/quadanual "League" system in SK. Players can travel a lot. The Games and Skilllevel may suffer a bit, but there is more cool Locations and people all over the world have the chance of getting close to big Esport events.
So KeSPA and Gom and whatever...unite and kill LoL....or just dont fuck everything up for everyone in SK.

What is sad is that the division appears to not be between the players, but between KeSPa and the rest of the world. The KeSPa players want to reach across the aisle and play with their buddies, but it is the governing bodies that are having issues.

But too bad Jaedong will never voice out against kespa since he is technically in kespa.

Instead of working together so everybody benefits, they are choosing to fight to be top dog. Childish and short sighted.

The excuse on Kespa end does not stand at all.
4 days of proleague means in fact 1 day/week per A teamer. 2 days of OSL means in fact at most 1 day/week for each of the 12 players qualified. MLG show matches mean what?
GSL participation means about 1 day/week for a qualified player. GSL have showed in the past that they are more then willing to reschedule groups to favour players schedule.
To me it looks like a bad move from Kespa and I like the response from ESF. I mean, ESF collaborates for success of both leagues, but Kespa only cares for their league?

And ESF players qualified for that tournement, while expecting the KESPA players to do the same for their league. I think if instead of WCS, we would have a GSL and the kespa players wouldn't participate for that , the ESF players wouldn't have signed up for the OSL prelims at all.
