I agree with others. The best word to describe the situation is LAME

That's unfortunate. Once they participate regularly with GOM players we can finally, hopefully get past the elephant metaphor in terms of understanding and anticipating the games.

That seems like a really dodgy press release with a dodgy tone. It's almost as if GOM is intentionally trying to stir up anger/pressure at Kespa. Oh wait, that's exactly what it is.

As for kespa making the decision, people need to understand that this is perfectly normal. Most importantly, a Kespa decision means that it's a joint team decision.

While I'm sure that there are individual players who would like to compete in the GSL, their time and effort playing Starcraft is committed entirely to their teams. And these are not western teams that are more like proxy sponsors than anything else - there is a fixed structure in how the players train, how much they train and what they train for. They don't get to just do whatever they feel like with their time.

In a nutshell, the teams decide what they want to get involved in (which was the case here). The actual players and coaching staff are only members of the team, they're not individual entities.

So what you are saying is because already 32 players of all the teams together participate in the OSL, the other remaining players do not get to participate in any participate in any individual league at all? Sounds legit.
All irony aside, whoever made the decision does not make the decision better for the players.

I wanted to try and watch a Kespa tournament once, but I had to watch a low resolution korean language stream casted by a 3rd party amateur caster. That combined with Kespas attitude means I will stand by GOM on this one.

I will gladly give my money to GOM and MLG.

I just had a weird idea... maybe KeSPA and GOM will try to keep themselves somewhat separate for a while to try to keep this rivalry going, with only a few events featuring players from both. Sort of like the two baseball leagues in the US... not saying if this would be a good thing or a bad thing, it was just an idea...

Yeah but the thing is, it would be like MLB vs some local community league. That's how bigger KeSPA is than GOM.

Eh, more likely about Violet.

KeSPA seem to be up to something imo.

Not attending MLG, now GSL too

Are they going to try and monopolise SC2 like they did BW, but have to come up with the master plan in order to do it? (considering SC2 is more established )

Or is it just their players really need the practice before getting their face smashed in sc2. (Perhaps the players are requesting it? which is unlikely)

What busy schedule are they having to keep to? I mean, really? Doesnt seem like they have much going on to me?

Well..lets hope it all smooths out eventually

Well, as much as I am against this decision, FBH always had a little troll inside of him, so I wouldn't take everything he says literally.

edit: nvm, violet

I have NO idea what you're saying you're thinking I'm saying as that sentence doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. -_-

The remaining players spend their time preparing for Proleague and being practice partners for players who are in the OSL, then preparing for the next qualifiers etc. There is plenty for them to do with their time, if that was your concern.

That may be, but the community league has the support of a huge section of the foreign audience. Now, that may not mean shit to KeSPa, but it does mean something in your analogy I think.

I wanted JD to participate. T_T

They think they will catch up by not participating? I don't really understand this decision. We have seen the KeSPA players compete with Code S players, and have beaten Code A players easily, it would have made for excellent viewing to see them progress in Code A. It is the best league in the world, if they think by not letting them compete will make the OSL more prestigious because they have both sets of players, they are mistaken.

I just think that it is disgusting that their teams prohibit them from participating in an individual league.
If they don't want to participate, then they don't have to. But at least allow the players who want to participate to do what they want.

looks much like a move to make OSL take off with all korean pro gaming stars and leave GSL as a sc2 online ghetto league.
