If this trend continue for 1 or 2 more GSL seasons, I can see GOM suffering the same fate as before, cuz they can't tell the GSL players to withdraw from the OSL, while Kespa can force their players to ditch GOM events. Talk about harmony lol. Well, we will have to see about that because the indie teams do have their union. While I don't think they would do something as stupid as pulling players out of the OSL, they might be able to, at least with their contracted players.

If Gom teams do that, then they'll just become another Kespa, and the scene will be divided for sure. That would be disastrous for Esports. Kespa sucks balls.

KeSPa players are on substantial salaries, most of the GOM players don't have such a stable income. Seems like a pretty realistic standard for me. Besides this a GOM post, I'd like to hear statements from both parties. Of course GOM's going to put all the blame on Kespa.

I want to support GOM, but if the best players in the world are only playing in the OSL (and MLG I suppose), that will be the number one league I want to watch. GOM is in danger of losing relevancy.

As for kespa making the decision, people need to understand that this is perfectly normal. Most importantly, what needs to be understood is that a Kespa decision means that it's a joint TEAM decision. Kespa isn't this vague, incorporeal overlord that people seem to imagine it to be - it's basically the teams + OGN getting together and deciding what's best for them as a group. While I'm sure that there are individual players who would like to compete in the GSL, their time and effort playing Starcraft is committed entirely to their teams. And these are not western teams that are more like proxy sponsors than anything else - there is a fixed structure in how the players train, how much they train and what they train for. They don't get to just do whatever they feel like with their time. In a nutshell, the teams decide what they want to get involved in (which was the case here). The actual players and coaching staff are only members of the team, they're not individual entities.

I don't think anyone really does, but a lot of us like the players that work under Kespa, so in order to support your favorite teams and/or players, you in turn have to support Kespa in some way. It is a shitty situation.

It's a union representing the interests of the team, and Kespa is now screwing the teams up, but GOM.
