Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything. |

Who says anyone was trying to keep it a secret? I think you have it backwards. EG was remaining professional about the acquisition by not having any official announcements before his official contract started, but it's not like they had to keep it super hush-hush. After all, even Millennium announced that their time with Stephano was up and he'd be moving on.

Lol, what secret? EG even admitted they made Stephano an offer. If anything, Stephano is the one hiding it. He has been asked a few times in interview what team he'll probably be going to, he told them to wait till the announcement. EG has nothing to say until their contract starts (let's just assume it's EG)

There, you stand corrected.
And no people don't talk about it that much, the coL-Mill contract dispute got more answers than this one.

IMO, EG doesn't really suit Stephano. He's in it for the money, which he on numerous occations has admitted, and i think that's quite ok. But still. To me, EG seems to buy the overrated, burned out players, who no longer wins any big tourneys, just like HuK. I mean, when was the last an EG member won anything big? On the other hand I would love to see Stephano break the EG-curse, as he is probably the strongest foreigner out there p.t.
I would love to see him go to IM or StarTales though. Would be nice to see him on Liquid aswell, but that's probalby never gonna happen

That's the thing though, EG wants players for their brand, korean teams want players for their skill. And in korea you can get a korean player of stephanos skill for a fraction of what I assume EG would pay him.

Yeah... you're wrong. I think you need to read through this thread for information and data explaining how EG doesn't buy washed up players, and how the best players on EG still perform well.
As a start, I believe this was written somewhere a while ago:
EG's placements in the top 10 of tournaments over the past 6 months:
HuK: 9th 05-27-2012 Red Bull Battlegrounds, 4th 03-25-2012 MLG Winter Championship, 3rd 02-26-2012 MLG Winter Arena
Puma: 3rd 02-25-2012 Assembly Winter, 2nd 03-10-2012 IEM 6 World Championship, 6th 06-10-2012 MLG Spring Championship
Thorzain: 1st 07-28-2012 WCS Sweden
Idra: 4th 06-10-2012 WCS USA
DeMuslim: 2nd 07-01-2012 WCS UK, 2nd 08-19-2012 Samsung European Encounter
JYP: 5th 03-10-2012 IEM 6 World Championship, 4th 03-19-2012 Red Bull LAN Orlando 2012, 10th03-25-2012 MLG Winter Championship
(And that's just in the past six months.)

It isn't about the skill though although that is what got him recognised
He is worth 20-30x more than any other Korean barring the top 10 through streaming, sheer participation in tournaments and the fact that everyone knows he's the best foreigner, you know who Stephano is
Edit - you meant player brand not team rand disregard what I said 5am reading skills seem to be non existent
