Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything. |

Boring to see EG has so much money... And Mouz got him from Prae right? You can't castigate a team for picking up a player, and not do the same when others do it

Stephano is defiantly the most valuable player in the world to have. Not only do you get the strongest foreigner who has won countless championships, you also get arguably the most popular streamer. Having idra and stephano who are by a long way the two most popular streamers will do great for EG's sponsorship.

The amount of cluelessness and lack of logic in posts like these is astounding. It's amazing how hard people to try convince themselves that EG is the bad guy when the reality is that it's not their fault that no other teams can afford what they can. Yet somehow it's evil to offer great players salaries they are deserving of. What EG is doing is really not honorable, not matter how indirectly. Less fortunate teams cannot play SC money ball style because starcraft is not a team based game. Specialists don't really work except in team leagues but individual wins are way more prestigious than ipl tac or gstl. When a team takes all the players that produce results before joining said team, that creates a monopoly because on paper, all the good players are on one team. Thus the EG curse. I call it karma. Universe is working as it should be. "Less fortunate teams"? What the hell does that mean?
EG works their asses off to get sponsors, to make money, and to make sure that they're generating enough revenue to keep expanding the business. 100% of EGs business is from their pro-gaming teams.
What you really mean is "lazy" teams, ones that you can't even identify the sponsors for.

Backing it up with false data isnt any better. HuK won a MLG after he transfered yes but at that point it was impossible for any sort of EG training to have kicked in. During that time his MLG and its placement system was wierd so he got automaticly put in championship sunday reguardless of other results in any seperate MLG.

That hapenned to Idra, to Huk and probably will happen to Stephano and Thorzain. And there is nothing wrong with that as long as EG doesn't think it's wrong since it's their players and their money.
I do understand they keeping incontrol. He has a natural talent to bring attention to the team, he is such a nice guy.
But then u look at Machine, Lzgamer and they have been with EG forever and never brought any attention to the team, neither results. That's probably why the new players don't get hunger for wins. They look at the team and the guys that have been there for so long and think if they would ever get kicked from the team with guys like machine and lzgamer. I like how you know their salaries and assume that LZgamer and Machine are paid tons of money. Living at the team house is not a huge expense and they all pay for their own food. I also like how you assume it makes people lazy. Getting paid more has never made me work less, but I guess you work by different rules. And if you don't understand why they keep Incontrol, you don't know how PR works or coaching works. Seriously, team captians are rarely the best players on the field. They are the ones who keep the other player's heads in the game. Well we are actually talking about kids earning to play games so yeah i assume they do get lazy as soon as they see more money than what they actually dreamed off. and you actually missread because i said the only one i do understand why they keep in the house is Incontrol exactly for being the good guy he is.
Except that they would be motivated to keep performing well because then they could get their contract renewed or get an even better salary. Not that your theory that progamers are only motivated by money is valid. But hey at least you tried to string some reasoning together into an argument. Next time maybe your logic won't run into a brick wall lol.

on an arbitrary, subjective, and slightly related note
I'm surprised EG is throwing money at another player when they have three highly skilled players who have largely fallen off the radar. JYP, Puma, and surprisingly HuK.
where the fuck are these guys? you see them at a tournament and after a quick exit they are never heard from again.

Well, he's still practicing, right? Just as he did at his old team? Or does EG tell their players not to practice to deliberately make their skill level decrease? Me, I bet they're using voodoo to curse their players. Seriously, I fear for people with this logic.
Taeja was hailed as one of SlayerS' most talented players. I bet if he joined EG he'd be lynched. But no, he joined Liquid and people rejoiced. Jinro was good once. He got into a long slump and never recovered. But he didn't go to EG, so no reason to hate on him, right? I really don't get you guys.
Do you really think that being over-compensated for what you're worth doesn't make you soft as a player? It's not some voodoo curse, it's people losing drive. Over-compensated? Based on what? Your arbitrary value of players? EG pays players based on what they think they'll get for RoI. And considering that EG still has money to buy big players, I'd say they do a much better job than you do.
That's entirely subjective when it comes to the value of the player. EG sees more value in them. Great, more power to them. There is no salary cap so keep it coming.
The real differences are between the work environments and the philosophies of the teams.

Just logical. Nothing else. EG is one of most established foreign teams all over the world, they although offer a great roster of sponsors/partners. It's now Stephano's opportunity to get as much money as possible until he thinks of a retirment.

as Destiny put it: "Has HuK retired or something? what the fuck."

Probably. lol. How much money does EG really have though if they're able to afford all these great players? Puma, Huk Thorzain, now Stephano.

honestly speaking I dont like this, because there hasnt been a single player who retained or improved his skills after joining EG

good move for Stephano and EG
won't make them any better in team leagues tho

does it mean that EG will let people go?
It's a crazy thought considering "EG HAS INFINITE MONEY." but you'd have to think that their resources are running a little thin now.

I'm very happy for Stephano and congratulation to EG. Getting Stephano must be a dream come true for them . I'm a bit sad for Millenium but they will do fine they always have. I'm wondering how much money we talking about. I been reading insane numbers l8tly I can't see how any drop in Stephano's level can happen due to a lack of practice anyway, I mean according to some he doesn't even practice at all right?
Haha, But coming back to all serious mode nothing will happened with Stephano he is a one man army he actually don't even need a team to improve or maintain his high level.
