Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything.

Hopefully this will be a good move to put EG back in the right direction.

This actually might be the worst kept secret in the History of E-Sports.

Cant wait to see Stephano in that dark blue jersey

That and they'll just resort to the fact that EG has to try and buy championships by taking in players who are already groomed versus taking in guys who nobody knows and making them stars.

They have no farm system to speak of.

See how easy it is to do?

People will find something regardless.

Plus eventually someone has to break out no?

Joining EG is probably not a good idea. Players they have never improve. Maybe you will get an "awesome salary", but you will lose your skill. Do you remember Huk? The amount of cluelessness and lack of logic in posts like these is astounding. It's amazing how hard people to try convince themselves that EG is the bad guy when the reality is that it's not their fault that no other teams can afford what they can. Yet somehow it's evil to offer great players salaries they are deserving of.

Its hilarious actually. And something even more hilarious is that some people actually believe the EG curse is real. I'm very happy for Stephano and congratulation to EG. Getting Stephano must be a dream come true for them . I'm a bit sad for Millenium but they will do fine they always have.

I'm wondering how much money we talking about. I been reading insane numbers l8tly

I can't see how any drop in Stephano's level can happen due to a lack of practice anyway, I mean according to some he doesn't even practice at all right?

Thorzain wins a tournament, joins EG, and then does nothing for Several months. He qualifies for TSL only to get demolished by Hasuobs(very underrated EU Protoss granted) 3-0 in the first round.

Huk is one of the only non-Koreans to win an mlg excluding Naniwa winning Dallas, signs with EG, and then falls off the face of the Earth. Literally, I haven't heard any notable achievement he has accomplished since joining EG.

Liquid is at least more consistent. Zenio was already a Code A Zerg player that turned hot AFTER joining Liquid. But he did just that: got hot, and was on a nice streak, before crashing back down. Thorzain and Huk were easily two of the top foreigners before joining EG. Now they're pretty much nothing.

You mean the Thorzain who has only won 2 major tournaments, TSL3 and Dreamhack, a year apart. Then he proceeded to win WCS Sweden after joining EG. Oh yea but he hasn't won a major tournament since May so obviously he's slumping.

You mean the Huk who signed with EG then proceeded to win a 2nd MLG, then get 5th and 3rd in MLGs after that? Damn he got absolutely crushed by joining EG.

People just like to make up stories and never back them up with data. It happens in literally every thread...

Love how the theory of the EG curse and the evidence gets so easily melded by anyone who wants it to be accepted despite those pesky facts. Now it's that the curse doesn't start right away...in that case I trust you're just as vocal about the liquid curse.

I like how most of you lil kids dont know much about anything.

Stephano if he leaves and joins EG, its actually a good thing for SC2. Why do you ask? Because if Stephano, and ThorZain never got picked up by EG, they would most likely both have retired from SC2. Stephano stated many times that he wanted to retire make as much money and then leave the scene, just like ThorZain. If there was no EG, Stephano and ThorZain probably would have retired and most of you guys would probably just cry.

So EG is actually giving them a chance to still play and make money, just how they liked. Stephano was going to EG you can just tell he blends into the team so well that if he didnt, it would make no sense. Everyone here should expect him going to EG so most of you have to quit crying because if there was no EG they most likely would have retired.

So by people's logic, whenever a good player joins EG this weird curse is put on him where he suddenly doesn't get results. Well, he's still practicing, right? Just as he did at his old team? Or does EG tell their players not to practice to deliberately make their skill level decrease? Me, I bet they're using voodoo to curse their players. Seriously, I fear for people with this logic.

Taeja was hailed as one of SlayerS' most talented players. I bet if he joined EG he'd be lynched. But no, he joined Liquid and people rejoiced. Jinro was good once. He got into a long slump and never recovered. But he didn't go to EG, so no reason to hate on him, right? I really don't get you guys.

Do you really think that being over-compensated for what you're worth doesn't make you soft as a player? It's not some voodoo curse, it's people losing drive.

Over-compensated? Based on what? Your arbitrary value of players?

EG pays players based on what they think they'll get for RoI. And considering that EG still has money to buy big players, I'd say they do a much better job than you do.
Average means I'm better than half of you.

What EG is doing is really not honorable, not matter how indirectly. Less fortunate teams cannot play SC money ball style because starcraft is not a team based game. Specialists don't really work except in team leagues but individual wins are way more prestigious than ipl tac or gstl. When a team takes all the players that produce results before joining said team, that creates a monopoly because on paper, all the good players are on one team. Thus the EG curse. I call it karma. Universe is working as it should be.
Without a paddle up shit creek.
