If you're referring to blizzcon, it was just the grand final. Here we're talking about ro4 and grand final being played with few preparation and a whole other event (IPL5) being played at the same time.

this is a terrible idea. and it will end terribly.

god its just for 1 season of gsl you guys. just let them do there thing. Change isn't always bad.

I think the Korean team will be Nestea, DongRaeGu, MC, MVP and Seed If they are going off of achievements probably. If they are going off who gives them the best chance to win then TaeJa is on the team for sure. Teaja on the world team simply seems wrong tough.

It is not the exact same shit. If it is just the finals, then yes, it would just be like MVP vs MMA. But moving the entire Ro8 to a single weekend drastically changes the preparation format compare to normal GSL.

I think this means Taeja will win it all if he can make another bo8, which, I think is inevitable. Although in my opinion it hurts Naniwa's chances which kind of sucks. GL to Taeja I suppose!

pretty fuckn shit. When everyone in NA has to watch the GSL at 5/6 AM... Yeah, one GSL won't hurt buddy.

E: Man, I really don't think the format will be fitting. As others have pointed out, playing several rounds of GSL in one weekend is... well, it's not GSL-like at all. I take it back, I take it all back.
._. gom please save us Ro8 isn't several rounds did you even do the math :l thats Ro8, Ro4, Championship :l sooooooooooooo yea no it's fine and you're freaking out about it for absolutely no reason.

If you think that Korean teams won't have their players well-prepared for their RO8 opponent and EVERYONE on the other side of the bracket, then lol.

DUDE!! America has to watch GSL at bad times all the time. Its roughly 5am-8am for me and that is literally the worst possible time. We are forced to do it for every single match. doing it for one weekend will not hurt you. IM sorry i feel no sympathy for you.

Is it really going to be hosted in Las Vegas? If so, that's disappointing.

Yes, it is for one season. But we already have a lot of weekend style offline events. Althought with WCG, OSL, and WCS() in Korea, we have more preparation events as well.

I.e. This isn't just about the lack of prep time. there is a ton of other circumstances that will ultimately make it a battle of "who's luckiest to not get sick and get a good rest".
If they are having the entire GSL single elimination phase of the tournament at IPL5 I would expect them to fly the players in a week early and get them adjusted to the time zone.

This 5v5 will be soo epic!

Lol, it is a lot easier to prepare for 1 opponent compare to 7...

We had a GSL finals overseas, people have no problem with this. Having the entire ro8 ro4 and finals in one weekend overseas is what people are against.

I would think MVP, MC, NesTea, DRG, an either MKP or Squirtle all give better chances of winning and all have more achievements as well so Taeja would only make it on based on popular vote.

Having that all put into one weekend....well it really kills the preparation and the hype. GSL/OSL/MSL etc always had those time periods for which players really could tailor specific builds on specific maps for specific players. Having to play all those games in that tiny period of time...well it's quite a departure from that tournament style and could make it significantly less interesting to watch. Not to mention we won't be able to look forward to and hype each series...
