On this friday we would like to welcome our korean terran Kim 'SuperNoVa' Young Jin. The second ranked at the IEM Sao Paulo plays under our mTw flag from now on. Welcome, Kim!
mTw is a German based team whose roster previous to this pickup consisted of Ukrainian Zerg DIMAGA.
Glad to see SuperNoVa finally found a team after the disbandment of oGs. Supernova will be playing in the Up and Downs for a spot in Code S this upcoming GSL season. One of the most consistent players, Supernova has been a longtime mainstay of Code S, having participated in the past 9 consecutive GSLs as a Code S player.
Supernova's Statement:
"Hi, I'm SuperNova. I'm so happy to join the mTw - team and these guys will be supporting me very well. I think mTw is the best team. So I will be the best player. I want to enter many foreigner tournaments and see passionate fans. See you soon. I love my fans."

I'm really happy for SuperNova, but you can tell that this is completely fuelled by money.

Yo mTw, Youngjin is his given name, not Kim.
But good luck to both.
The Koreans normally put family name first.
I'm aware of that, but you still don't say "Welcome, Kim". Pretty sure they wanted to use the given name there.

But don't you usually refer to people with their family name in Korea?
Well wanted him to join a Korean team. But since he's one of my favorite players I will support him no matter what. ^^ SuperNova Fighting and Congrats!~ ^^
Will he actually be sent to tournaments? I don't see dimaga sent to any tournaments unless they're european ones. Will they send supernova to play in open brackets of MLG?
On July 27 2012 16:10 Pyloss wrote: Wow, finally Dimaga isn´t alone on mTw anymore. I hope that Supernova can still stay in the TL house.^^
he wasn't really alone on the team for a long time actually. demuslim,TT1,Underdark,Rine,kAra,NarutO,SonG were all part of the team previously before they eventually all left
I think he was shopping around for a better offer, but after being smashed by IMYoda he realizes he needs to start practicing with a team and joined mTw even though he was looking for maybe Fnatic or EG or whatever.

*tin foil hats*
Following up on the realization that he needs to practice with a team by joining a team that consists of one other player (DIMAGA) doesn't seem like a logically sound theory.

I don't think a lot of teams wanted him. He might be a good player but he needs personality and a stable fan base.
That being said, I'm surprised that Liquid didn't pick him up. We only have 1 good Terran and Supernova is already in their house.
He said before that he had gotten quite a few offers from foreign teams but wanted to wait until he did better in code s to get better offers. Guess he got a little impatient...

What is not in Esports? You think players for playing for pride and women? please...
If there was a liquibet for player trades and acquisitions I think I'd have a 0% percentage. I never imagined he'd end up on this team. But glad to see he finally has a contract and home again.
I remember the cute korean girl in the Gomtv studio cheering so hard for Supernova and i really wished that i would have cared about this anonymous terran just so i could say something to her.
Glad his picking up a bit of identity in mtw. Here's to a few more successful GSL runs and a whole lot of more cute korean girls!

Since it's not a TL house, yes of course he can =p
It's not in any way, shape or form affiliated with or supported by any team (unless you wanna count the fact that players living in the house are being paid salaries from teams, but in that case the guy bagging groceries at wallmart is living in a wallmart affiliated apartment).

Haha I love this explanation, well done . Hope many people read this, because 80% still seem to misunderstand. It's pretty much just friends living together in korea and practicing starcraft right?
Anyways, congratz to Supernova and mTw, really looking forward to the next event he and Dimaga attend together.
Yay SuperNoVa! Hes one of those players that Im a huge fan of but I dont really know why...I think it was the random interview long ago where Nada and Top said he was the person who spent the most time on twitter and who annoyed everyone in a lovable way. I swear he looks exactly like a certain animal but I cant quite put my finger on it, maybe anteater? Anyways Im super happy for him, the oGs dispanding left a lot of great players teamless and he was definetly one of the ones with significant credentials, gratz to both parties. Please become the best player SuperNoVa
On July 27 2012 16:48 PlacidPanda wrote: To be honest I really dont like mTw as a team or dimaga, but great pickup and glad that such a great player has good financial support now!!
You don't like Dimaga? didn't know this was possible
Wow haha, interesting week. Suppy joins EG, Genius joins SlayerS, SuperNoVa joins mTw...it's like some alternate universe. Congratulations to both parties, hope he's able to be provided for in Korea and get enough practice to keep owning it up in Code S.
On July 27 2012 17:06 Serinox wrote: Weird, mTw stated not too long that they wanted to focus on DIMAGA. Anyway, gratz to SuperNoVa, but I didn't see that coming o__O
Dimaga got personal sponsor XMG , so mTw can afford new players now.
Well great for mTw but i hoped that SuperNova would have found a top foreigner team, or at least a team that plays in the well known leagues like EGMC or IPTL.
This is news is quite surprising, but congratulations to Supernova! It's great that he was finally picked up. I hope this means good things for both mTw and Supernova.

Yeah, it's crazy, just like SK! ...
Congrats to both Supernova and mTw!
why you troll xD SK only have MC, and mTw also have DIMAGA xD no to be real, mTw lost SO many players (demuslim tt1 nightend etc), taking Supernova means they are on a comeback !

see it this way, mTw IS a top team, and when they got supernova i am sure they will get 2-3 more and starts legues again ^^
Wow, happy to see more and more Koreans in foreign teams, especially in europeans (and in this case) germans! It's not about nationality, but such things will help the eSports scene here in Germany to grow! I love this decision!
Way back as I played cstrike mTw was my favourite team - maybe the become the same in SC2 for me?
On July 27 2012 23:19 Bedrock wrote: Not sure if this was talked about earlier, but I'm guessing the whole situation about oGs trying to reform isn't really going to happen?
Maybe they'll form a team with just TOP, InCa, JookTo and TheWind as their coach.
I really expected SuperNoVa to join a Korean team, but I think he might want to travel more to foreign tournaments I suppose. Thank goodness he is giving Dimaga some company in mTw. Best of luck to SuperNoVa!

If he thinks he can perform without an actual team, he should go for the most money possible, like MC did.

That was unexpected since mTw kinda anounced they weren't interested on having a full team anymore. Maybe they changed their minds? More anouncements to come?
Anyway, hope Supernova does great with this new team, i like him so much. =D
Would have liked to see SuperNoVa on Liquid as well, but I guess they couldn't come to contractual terms.
Next GSTL season is coming soon, so with HayprO having left Korea (I believe) and TLO going home at the end of the year, the team will be too small to compete, not that it had much depth to begin with. Let's see what will happen.
Anyways, congratulations to SuperNoVa for having found a team!
Wow, such a random pickup, still SuperNova is one of my favorite Ts, so I'm happy for him that he finally found a team, it was so wierd hearing him introduced as just SuperNoVa.
On July 28 2012 15:33 Havik_ wrote: He could have done way better I think. I hope they're giving him a good salary.
In terms of foreign teams willing to sign him fly him around to all foreign tournaments (which seems to be his main focus in wanting a foreign team)... I doubt it.
Very nice to see. SuperNova certainly is one of the best Terrans out there and mTw is a very solid, professional team. I'm exited to see what this partnership can accomplish.

well he's a terran who almost always does well in gsl. i could name many korean players who are not as good as supernova yet they still got picked up by foreign teams (don't rly follow all of them to know how many tournaments they fly to)
so my point is I (and it seems like others) didn't think that ogs' ace player will be picked up last, and by mtw. i really hope he got a good contract, he deserves it
He is really good, but when he says that mTw is the best team, is it because it's standard to do so, because it's the best team for him or because he really thinks it? I mean IM, Startale, EG, Team Liquid, they are all more popular, have more known and active players and in my opinion, would win in a teamleague.

Well he sure as hell isn't going to say - "Yeah mTw, they're ok. But you know why I joined? The bundles of cash they promise to send me every month. Fuck yeah, daddy's gonna get a Hyundai Accent."

Any player is gonna want to say he is the best and that his team is the best.
this is really good choice from mtw if they want to start seeing more results that are consistant because if he can travel to a lot of foreign tournies he is going to slay. mtw can build on this i feel and that is why its great for both parties!
