Anyone know how strong these groups are? Flash's group looks pretty easy to me, but I haven't followed the KeSPA SC2 switch so I might be completely wrong.

Proboem is that the most dominant players in the proleague have been beaten by relatively unkown players, so even if you have watched the Proleague regularly, you don't know for sure. Just considering that Flash was seeded into this while the rest qualified on their own, I think Flash will have a hard time advancing (not saying that he can't!).

didn't flash have to play rd4 broodwar and dropped out? I think right now he is focussing on SC2 only and should be able to improve some more before his match.

None of the other guys in his group have made any noticeable performances in PL.
Bisang never even played SC2 in PL, but his team is noted for their extremely good SC2 performances and his Protoss teammates have been playing quite well (Flying, free, sHy).
STX Terrans have also been quite good (Last, Bogus, Classic - although Bogus has had quite a poor run in PL)

Not to mention his TvZ play is weakest by miles, his MMM macro and control is good but his Siege tank control could be considered as awful on a pro level.
You are looking at it from wrong perspective. Group B is definitely most stacked. Best reached group finals in WCS, Zero showed some ZvP prowess and given some time he may be really good. Baby is top terran in sc2.
However all groups are quite strong, and there is no clear favorite.

Flash has the easy group on paper for sure. Then again just because people haven't had much PL time/success doesn't mean they aren't capable of being really good. They did qualify after all.
Group A: Sun and Flying have been two of the best toss in PL, and Soulkey is strong even if he isn't as reliable as some others. Bogus keeps losing to everyone but isn't actually that bad and will prove a challenge for anyone he faces =p
Group B: Zero looks very strong from the little we've seen of him, Best is very solid (though maybe at his strongest in PvP?), Classic has played some good games, and Baby is probably a top 3 Terran from Kespa (some might say #1 but since it's still early it's hard to compare)
I would say flash is only a slight favorite given all informations we have (which is very little still). Players performance change from week to week so thats a big unknown variable. Lets not forget players in those groups besides Flash/Zero actually qualified through tough preliminaries beating people like HITMAN, Jaedong, Stork etc etc
Im actually rooting for Zero, and for Flash because they were playing BW in OSL yet still managed to catch up to others in sc2. Pretty impressive.
Can't wait to see BeSt v BaBy (anyone knows why he goes with the weird TY ID in PL?) Flying is also really good in PL and BoguS showed some great games despite losing, so looking forward to that one too. I can't even decide if Group A or B is the harder one. Group C is the only one I'm not quite looking forward to, maybe until Flash demolishes Last in a Winners TvT, that's going to be great.

Baby was using TY for years same as ForGG was using Never _v_ for years but we tend to keep eye shut on this.

TY is his initials. His name is Tae Yang.
Ah, makes perfect sense, thanks :D I'm so used to him being a 12 year old wonderkid.

its a tough group, ryul2 may be considered the weakest but nothing is certain.
Oh waw, the Ro16 already looks amazing, hope that very good Kespa players can jump in aswell !
The first SC2 OSL looks great ! (Well, still a bet with the Ro16, but come on, with these players, any tournament would look great).
My bets : Group A : Bogus and Soulkey (i'd say) Group B : I don't know at all , though i'd like to see ZerO advancing. Group C : Flash + i don't know, maybe Last, but not that much confident.
I would love to follow up more on the KESPA players but I seem to always be outdated, plus I never get to watch the matches because of timezone differences.
And whenever I did have the opprotunity to watch any matches they were mixed into a SC/SC2 format which I disliked. I don't even understand what the hell is this OGN tournament for and what the hell is going on at the moment

Zero also reached group finals in WCS . I think with Reality making the WCS qualifiers he is the terran with the best results , but Baby is also one of the best terrans from his showing in PL and OSL offline preliminaries .
I would be glad if SoulKey Sun , Zero Baby and Flash Last make it out of their groups .

looks like flash got the easiest gruop for me too, but who knows how good they are at sc2.
I hope some of the unknowns do well and (more importantly) show good skill. It'd be nice to have a group of completely new and skilled players even outside of Flash and other star players.

How will they draw the round of 16? Will it be random or are they going to try and play GOM pro's against Kespa pro's? Can't see too many of the Kespa players winning against the 8 GOM players at their current level.

Haha, reminds me of Luxury and Kal who also used different IDs for years but people still called them like this.
No, it is OnGame Net Starleague, with only SC2. It has a Kespa preliminaries (this thread is about it), a Non-Kespa preliminaries (already played), and seeds.

I saw a lot of people who said : " Easy group for Flash ". I'm happy for him because he doesn't have to play against BaBy, Soulkey or Flying, because they looked very good ! But Flash's group is still hard. They had to beat some good opponent to be in this groupstage ...
Prediction : Group A : Neo.G_Soulkey & Flying (but I hope By.Sun's going to beat them !) Group B : BaBy & BeSt Group C : Flash & Ryul2 (Why ? I don't know, just got that feeling )

I don't necessarily think the group is easy, it just looks easier than the other groups. As you say, everybody went through tough qualifiers to get here so everyone will be pretty good. However, I'd rather have Flash in the group he is in right now than in a group with Soulkey, Flying, Sun or Baby, Best and Zero. Compared to those groups, Flash's group looks relatively easy.

Still, How many times did you see Ryul2 playing on Starcraft 2 ? He didn't play in PL, so we don't really know his Level compared to BaBy or Soulkey for example (That's just what I think).
Anyway, on Paper, Group A & B look harder than Group C, but we'll have to wait & see. May be Last, Ryul2 and BisAnG will show a magnificient play .
Best v Baby is the best matchup here. Best is 5-2 and Baby is 4-2 in PL currently. That said, really wish JD would have gotten through qualifiers, he's been a beast lately and made Bogus look like a b-teamer the other night.
Soulkey's recent StarCraft 2 play has been very impressive (compared to the other Brood War players). Even though I am a huge Flash AND Terran fanboy I think Soulkey has a really good chance of taking this tournament.
I'll try to catch this, but NOTHING can keep me from watching EVERY game of the RO16, probably the most exciting RO16 in the history of our e-sport. A combined total of five (or six) silver GSL Medals and TEN (or eleven) GSL Golds? PLUS all the OSL history that I have yet to learn about, possibly including Flash!? It's positively wild.

As soon as all the Ro16 participants are known, there will be Group Nominations. Should be fun this time, what with 8 KeSPA and 8 non-KeSPA players picking and/or trying to avoid each other.

Since the non Kespa player ODT was bo1, it is likely this will be Bo1 as well to keep with the OSL tradition. Although they are only play 1 group per day (unlike non Kespa player side which played 2 groups each day), they technically have the time to play Bo3.

Group A is the group of death, for sure. All four of them are serious contenders. Group B will likely be BeSt and BaBy. Group C I think Flash most certainly, and the winner of Last/BisAnG.

No the only people who were seeded on the Kespa side were the current OSL Ro4 (Flash and Zero) who were seeded into the dual tournament and the finalists (Fantasy and JangBi) who were seeded directly into the Ro16. Jaedong didn't get out of his qualification bracket.

Groups A and B are really strong. I'd rank them...
By.Sun, Soulkey, Flying, Bogus, but all 4 of them are roughly equal, with only Sun favored. They are all really good despite Bogus' abysmal record. However he might just continue that losing streak despite playing decent games. I am rooting for By.Sun and Soulkey, but since Soulkey is likely to lose his first match, it will probably be By.Sun and Flying. Anyone can progress though.
BaBy, BeSt, ZerO, Classic, with BaBy and BeSt slightly favored, but ZerO and Classic not far behind. I'm not giving Classic a chance to progress though. It will be between the first 3.
Group C is a little difficult to call because Bisang and Ryul2 haven't played a lot of games, at least not enough for me to come up with a solid opinion. Not sure if I've ever seen Bisang play SC2 actually. Because of that I'm going with Flash and Last to progress, which will probably happen.
