"So weird the double standard people have in this community. Korean pros say jokey arrogant stuff about other players all the time, but if Naniwa says anything similar people assume he's 100% serious and BM. Imagine the shitstorm there would have been if Naniwa had danced his units when beating Genius, and yet Korean players (including DRG) dance their units all the time as well as dropping manner mules, making manners nexuses etc."
Do you Naniwa fans even subscribe to his twitter? He makes a stink about every little thing, the guy lives for drama. When he says something stupid, he means it.
I like how his tweets during WCS UK were about how shameful it is that the prize pool and seeding was identical to Swedens, when if he followed that logic nobody would be seeded to the championships except for koreans. I don't see him complaining that sweden has the same prize money/seeding opportunities as Korea..

Oh, the double standards.. Anyway, great play by DRG. Well Naniwa has a history in BM-ing and also isn't that likeable compared to DRG. I don't care, I like Naniwa's attitude. When I play anything with friends or even friends of friends of friends we shit on each other and trash talk constantly. I wouldn't act any differently with the public watching. The correct response to someone trash talking you is to trash talk back or beat them, not to whine publicly. You are playing a game with friends. He is playing this game as his full time career, as a living.

And lol at people trying to say DRG is usually humble- I've seen DRG say plenty of cocky things in other interviews.
There's nothing wrong with players talking smack sometimes and some of you need to realize Naniwa just does the same thing the Korean players do and stop acting so butthurt about him.
Pro players dance their units all the time, I don't think anyone would care if Naniwa did it. Cool off guys, it's not like that at all. Some pro gamers act arrogant, but that's because they've earned it.

Zergs that I think are better than Stephano: DRG, Symbol, Nestea, Leenock, Sniper, Monster, Curious, viOlet, Freaky, Seal, LosirA, Shine, Annyeong, Monster, HyuN, Life, BB4, ByuL, Moon, CoCa Protoss that I think are better than Naniwa: MC, Squirtle, Creator, Parting (maybe) ..... yeah. This shouldn't even be a question. Stephano should not be compared to Naniwa until he competes in the GSL. I think stephano should be rated higher honestly hes been consistently finishing top4 at the last few mlgs (with top code s koreans attending)
it is obvious that you are naniwa fanboy but come on this list of yours is just funny DRG(sure), Symbol(sure), Nestea(probably), Leenock(what has this guy done recently), Sniper(hes only good vs code a players), Monster(top 8 finish in foreign events), Curious(same if not worse than leenock), viOlet(i say hes around same level), Freaky(the guy whos played like 3 official gsl matches?), Seal(no), LosirA(no with his current condition), Shine(no), Annyeong(no), Monster(even if he appears twice on the list, still no lol), HyuN(nope), Life(maybe), BB4(nope), ByuL(nope), Moon(no), CoCa(maybe if stephano switch to terran)

I think there is something akin to Godwin's law here on TL. I shall eponymously name it lichter's law:
"As a discussion on TL.net grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Naniwa or Idra approaches 1."

I'll smile if I see someone else quote this in another thread later on. I hope this becomes a thing.

Heh, whatever the PR and community wants them to be, they're all nice, normal guys when it comes down to it. A cocky comment in some interview doesn't really say anything about them, whether it's DRG or Naniwa.
While Naniwa's hard work has paid off already (two seasons of good Code S showings gotta count for something), I want him to take it all so badly. Obviously in Code S everyone works really hard and are more or less equally deserving, but Naniwa left everything behind for this. D:
'sides, back home in Sweden he's a hero to many of us, and having him win the most hyped league on the planet would be good for the growth of eSports here. Considering Swedish television has taken a lot of interest in it, there might be a chance something like that would make it into the news.
On a side note, if it turns out Naniwa has to wait til next season after all, I'm happy it ends against DRG who's likely to win it all. And rightfully so. It's a bit of a win-(semi)win situation heh.

Uhhh there is no double standard in this scenario. DRG is similar to MC. They said plenty of stuff that make people think they are cocky but in reality they are humble people. Those comments they make are for the sake of entertainment.(Idra said MC make many ceremonies on him but MC is a nice person in general).Same here with DRG smacktalking with Naniwa. I agreed with you there is nothing wrong with players smack talking sometimes but the thing is Naniwa has a history in BM-ing and has created many controversial events and so on eventhough he has now improved in terms of skill and personality compare to the past. The bad history will always be there whereas DRG doesn't have any. That's why some people are butthurt about him or so you called it. Also, DRG is a GSL Champion.XD
When Naniwa says anything cocky, it's BM. When a Korean player says anything cocky or does BM ceremonies it's for the sake of entertainment. Why does Naniwa never get the benefit of the doubt like the Korean players? Naniwa's said plenty of humble things (like what he said in the first page of this thread about being the underdog) but haters like you choose to ignore those comments.

I find it strange this whole "naniwa" conversation is based off an assumption of what "would" happen...are people that desperate for human interaction they must have idiotic, irrelevant "arguments" on a forum.

I've gained a lot of respect for Naniwa as a player lately, but I would love to see DRG crush him.
Two favorite Zergs right here.
