I feel like we should definitely reflect on what we have contributed to the sc2 community, but also put into perspective how much we really have sacrificed. I know most people know about addictions, whether it be drug, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, etc. In the end, one really needs to ask them self, is SC2 becoming an addiction for me? Does the end justify the means? I realize this website is full of passionate fans who all want esports to grow (and I completely respect that) , but in the end, we only have one life and if you are not happy with SC2 and you think the sacrifices you have made do not justify the means, then you really do need to reassess your life style. So please, be passionate and proud of the sacrifices you have made, but also keep an open mind to whether or not SC2 has had a negative impact on your life. Like everything else in life, SC2 is best in moderation.

Not as much as perhaps I should have. I've been involved in the edges of esports for the last 16 years but never dived head in and committed because I never felt it made sense as a career.

But you don't get deeply involved for sensible reasons, you do it because you are passionate about it and try and maybe luck out and come out the end well, and if you don't you have no regrets.

Nowhere near what I sacrificed for wow or diablo2, in comparison: loads of money(wow sub), and most importantly, personal physical and mental health.
I could say I even gained something from esports on the other hand, like better english knowledge, korean alphabet and patience.

Uh, I bought about 3500 kroner's worth of keyboards over the years, which would be 580~ dollars. And a little less than that on mice. I'm assuming time and money invested into hamster-related affairs are not counted in this case.

I got myself XAI and SX from steelseries. Wouldn't really call it a sacrafice =) Probably getting carpal tunnel but whatever, we're all just gonna die anyway ^^
