A couple thousand bucks, time, a girlfriend and maybe a year less of general practice in favour of an earlier medical specialty.
But it's been so worth it and so rewarding... The sacrifices done are nothing when compared to all what you gain. Friendship, good times, you learn a TON of shit, and have some fun times.

I find this funny. I've probably sacrificed a little bit of sleep, about 500 dollars for a new computer, and that's it. I'm a sophomore in High school taking 3 AP's and having all A's and still play a lot of sc2 enough to get to near grandmasters. It's all about time management and making the right decisions at the right time. Don't let your grades slip, relationships be ruined, or be jobless for eSports. Most of us will not really have a future as a pro gamer, so stop being lazy and put effort into other things and then sc2 can come later. Trust me, you will feel far more better and be far more successful in life.

Spent time checking out the free MLG streams back in the day. I basically just watch the zerg streamers now.

I wouldn't say it was sacrificed time, because I'd be spending it doing some other mindless thing.

Nothing? I've never paid a thing to watch MLG, NASL, GSL or anything like that, nor have I gone to any events or bought any merchandise (unless you want to count buying a steelseries keyboard when my old, ~17 year old one died). And I guess time, but I would've just spent that on something else that was just as unproductive.

Well I got interested in Korea through ESPORTS and ended up coming here, but I don't consider that giving up anything because Korea is awesome.

I guess I've spent the money for MLG gold and my GSL passes, but I'd call that money well spent.

The only thing I can really think of is that I spent way too many mornings of my study leave, when I was doing my exams a year ago, watching the GSL instead of revising. And maybe if I hadn't I would have got into my first choice university. But if I'd got the grades for that I wouldn't have had an amazing year off.
