Don't know if TLPDized wrong, but I see BW pros.
Edit: And I like it.

The first group stage of Dreamhack is pretty much irrelevant.

I probably won't watch the first stage but I still like that they have it so newcomers/unknowns get an equal chance to prove themselves.

I really like that there are so many lesser known players in groups with a few very well known players. Maybe one of these guys can make a name for himself by beating stephano or something.

The best part of DH is that it leaves plenty of room for new players to break into the scene. The worst part is that there's not much reason for a viewer to watch the first group stage.

But that's completely alright imho, there wouldn't be much reason to watch the first two rounds of MLG open brackets either if that's the only thing they broadcasted then.

There's one good match in every group, so they should be able to cast decent games all the time in any case.

No, but thanks to the way MLG is played, they can broadcast high level games while the open bracket is played in the background. Sure, there's some decent games to be played out in this first group stage, but it's not quite the same.

Both have their drawbacks and advantages. but I think an open tournament is better than a seeded one, in the long run.

Expecting Taeja or Keen to win, but with so few Koreans I could definitely see a foreigner pulling it off.

I think there's 2 seeded pro players per group and 2 "amateurs"

JonnyRecco and Stephano are the pro's in that group

That's a Swedish player called Tails, not the Korean

jonnyRecco is legit, however, the tails listed there isn't MVP TAiLS. It's a swedish player.

Kind of losing interest in dreamhack since it's like 90% foreigners, could at least allow a couple players from Korean teams imo. Still love it but it seems like they are winning "less"(As in an easier tournament since there are only few top players). It makes it kind of redundant to watch, because either the good players like Naniwa, Huk, Stephano, and Puma will either dissapoint and lose, or win like they are obviously supposed to on paper.
No offense intended, hope u guys know what I mean.

Its an Open tournament. Everyone can sign up for it. The reason why so few is signing up is cause they have to pay for the trip and hotel by themselves, just like everyone else at Dreamhack.
