If a person whats to make unproven accusations, they should be forced to not smurf. This sets a terrible precedent and could lead to people posting false hacking accusations just to tarnish reputations and ruin careers with no risk or punishment. There is something to be said about the accused being able to face the accuser/witnesses, which is why it makes sense that the accuser should be identified. But given the recent witch hunt nature of this community, I think there is good reason why someone might want to hide their identity while bringing up a hacking accusation. As for Spade's career, we don't know. You cannot ignore his past indiscretions. Yet if the community agrees that he did not cheat, we're going to forget about this thread in due time and that'll be that. On the bright side, no one has contacted sponsors yet (I think). | ||

Well now that Spades has released his ladder reps this might be useless, but when I read the thread I was inspired to check a recent game against Spades (HSC qualifier). When I played the game I noticed nothing suspicious, though it was a short game. I looked at the replay and found some stuff that seemed similar to what the op described (but I was looking for them). I'm not claiming he hacks or that he doesn't, I'm just sharing my observations of this game. 3:04 his scout enters my main, and he doesn't control it at all. He doesn't look at my base a single time until I attack his scout with an SCV. This seems odd to me since he scouted late (15 supply) on a huge map. I would expect him to expect a Marine to be ready to shoot the SCV given its arrival time. There isn't one because I went gas first, but unless he checked my matchlist before the game (waste of time since I'm a nobody) he couldn't know I typically open that way tvt. Not bothering to scout with the SCV after he remembers he has it seems weird too, he's apparently not at all concerned with my 2nd gas (which is important information). He also doesn't scan my main a single time to figure out my tech. However if he did check my matchlist he may identify the signals of my most common opening, so none of this is evidence, just odd. 7:33 he doesn't move his screen at all to see whether he killed the Banshee or not; seems odd to me. He wasn't doing anything else at the time either. If he had followed my Banshee with his camera it would have lead into the fog. This sounds similar to the camera locking. However he does similar things (not following stuff with his camera) when the thing I'd expect him to chase is moving through his vision (not into fog), so this may be some idiosyncratic camera movement. However at 8:34 seemingly out of character he does follow a Banshee through his own vision. 8:45 he's apparently unconcerned with my Banshee; he chased it off to the left and then moves back into his nat; I'd expect him to continue tracking it with his army or at least camera. His tower vision shows nothing else on the way, so I wouldn't expect him to be expecting something else coming to his nat as an explanation. It's odd, but again not real evidence. 8:50 his camera is still in a fairly useless spot. 9:59 he for the first time allows fog into his vision (partially). 11:22 I finally kill his Marine on the tower, and he doesn't look at it once despite my units being in his vision for a while, and doesn't click into the fog once the Marine dies to check residual vision (of my units there). Could be a mistake, he may have been distracted by my single Viking in his main that he was about to overkill, but seems like an odd lapse of minimap awareness when for the rest of the game he seemed alert of his vision. 12:17 he for the first time puts his camera into the fog (mini-map click) and issues a command into it. Does this disprove camera locking, or is that feature easily toggleable? 12:36 he's very bold moving to the tower which he lacks vision of. This could definitely viably be confidence that he's ahead after having beaten my force at his nat previously, but personally it seems pretty careless. 13:10 he charges into my nat after scouting 2 tanks in position and knowing I have several vikings (for tank vision). He doesn't scout past the tanks so I feel like he can't know for certain that I have nothing else there (result of making a fast 3rd base which he didn't scout). Seems careless to me, but I guess he was just very confident in his victory. Nothing I found strikes me as being evidence of hacking, but a lot of it seems like evidence of incompetence and very slow play. That seems like a weird combination of traits for a player of any renown. I think it's that weirdness that makes the people who believe he hacks find his actions suspicious. | ||
