I'm not sure you can really classify Flash's comments as "whining". I would interpret them as his opinion, which he openly and truthfully discusses when people ask him what his thoughts are on SC2. There's a difference between needlessly complaining about things that you know won't change, and giving your honest opinion when asked about it - even if its negative. The latter acknowledges the situation as it is and moves on, the former dwells in it and stifles any efforts to make things better. Its just like SC2 balance...the balance team asks for feedback from the people who play, and pro-gamers, on how they feel the game is. Its not just statistics, but arguments that make up balance. And if pro-gamers make a lot of statements about something, then maybe the balance team will hear them and investigate. But its important to acknowledge that there is a place for awareness of problems, and that not all negative statements should be viewed as some sort of useless "balance whine".
Also all-caps can be used to signify emphasis on certain points; just like how in real life people stress the importance of certain words by saying them more emphatically. This is the equivalent in typed form, and can also take the form of italics of asterisks. So in case you thought there was only one reason that people type all-caps, well...there's another one.

You people need to take a step back and realize that, unless you were interviewing Flash yourself, you have no idea the context in which he phrases each answer. He could easily be sarcastic/joking and no one can tell based on a written interview Q&A. Just take it with a grain of salt and move on. It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

All caps used to mean shouting, it still does for many people. It forces you to pay attention to it. It's just distracting and impolite (like shouting). Much better to use italics or bold.

I think because Flash is so used to BW and that game had a unique way of being balanced to say the least, he surely feels that SC 2 is still in it's infant stage of balance. Admit it, we have overlooked a lot of game design issues for a while now, knowing that Blizzard is very slow to do anything about it. I think Flash's view is on point, being a newcomer to game.
Edit: keep in mind, this game is still great. It just could be better.

Also, when every protoss pro in the world was complaining about 1/1/1, the consensus on this forum was that toss was playing bad and had to figure out how to deal with it. now when Terrans complain about P, people declare it to be the absolute truth. Funny how Terran-dominated this forum is.
