I am confused.

Are you saying that Flash is bad because he doesn't look impressive in these games or that SC2 is bad because it is easier than BW.

So as far as mechanics go, his raw speed in that video is nothing insane. But what is insane is his efficiency, good mechanics aren't just about pressing buttons as much as pressing the buttons at the right time. If you noticed the attack in that T v T he manages to come right back to the drop he loaded up at the end the second it finishes unloading the units. Every depot seemed to land at perfect timings and he was never "missing" anything more important than the immediate thing he was doing. Very cool! Amazing progress for a month. However I worry about what MVP said in his most recent interview. Perhaps playing both BW and sc2 are too hard on the players and coaches. : /

What interview? I must have missed that one--

One of them is a (former?) Grandmaster player, though, if Lastshadow is correct.

Possible.

Do you really not understand how impressive his play is? He's leagues and bounds better than most people ever could be with less than 8 weeks of play time.

Will believe it when I see it, this isn't BW anymore and while mechanics do still play quite an important part, they're not the primary concern in most games.

I would really like to see full games versus top korean players tho, it's quite hard to judge from these 2 short ladder videos.

Rank 56 masters in korea/taiwan, pretty impressive :O.

Wth? He's played over 400 2v2's...

Probably just getting used to the different mechanics, but still..

Wouldn't it be ironic if Flash and Zergbong switched roles on SC2?

But I have faith in my God.

Sorry but zergbong is already zergbong in sc2 again. =(

This is unfortunately more true by the day :/

This kind of thread is bound to breed the worst kind of comments and BW-vs-Sc2 arguments.

Very impressive... thought it was cool how he seemed to favor mass medivacs over additional tanks. I can't wait to see what he'll come up with for tournament games.

And don't put too much into the record of the account he was using guys, who the hell knows how many different people have been using that id.

What these two videos are not supposed to show:
Flash being a SC2 bonjwa after a couple of months, tearing up the league and doing a new innovative strategy every game.

What these two videos are supposed to show:
Flash playing SC2, showing the level of play he is currently at.

For a guy that has to practice two games competetively, having to deal with adjusting to the different kinks of each game and who's also been playing the new game for less than two months... Yeah, I'd say that this is pretty impressive.

Get off your high horse.

i'm on a donkey, it's called sc2. didn't you get the memo? ;-)

Flash has never really been known for his super fast speed. His decision making, skill, and critical thinking are what got him to the top of the BW food chain.

"super fast" in terms of broodwar. His apm in broodwar usually floated around 350 apm, versus someone like Jaedong who had 400 apm typically.

Its still really high (and higher than most foreigners)

Actually if I recall he was only around 275-300 average, not even 350 ish. At least I think?

Flash's apm in sc1 was 330-370.

so somebody could check out Apocalypse's match history to find Flash's ID... interesting

huh, everyone knows that Flash needs to practice 2 games at the same time so they really can't expect him to crush face

although if someone is expecting as such I would advise him to reread my first sentence.
