His point is that Flash is new and right now plays like every other Terran. You can't look at that game and say that he's playing this radically different new style that nobody else does.

For a guy that just started playing SC2, his resource control is even better than most pros. His builds were so fluid and well timed, and the decision making in that TvT clip was awesome. It definitely has begun. edit; was also nice to see him using a separate hotkey for his tanks/army. Nice to see high level players actually use that ability Pretty much this. Once he gains a better understanding of the game and uses MBS more he'll be a beast. Now just show me jeadong pleaseeee ![]()

An interview with Flash in 2010, where he stated himself that he had an income of 300,000 KRW (250,000 USD), up to 400,000 KRW with prize money. His base salary has certainly increased since then, given how KT generously awards its players every time they win PL, and they've won it twice. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=129095

Any source or evidence of his six figure salary? http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=129095 is an interview with flash about his salary. He says "-The income includes prize money from the leagues. On the low side, it’s about 250000000 won, and it can get up to 400000000 won on the high side. Last year I got about 300000000 won." I'm looking for another specific thread after KT won the '10-'11 league that said how KT was increasing the salaries of its players. I thought it existed but can't find it immediately. There also is an interview with tossgirl here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=306416 where he talks about money a little joking. He says he can afford a 2 million dollar mansion with any future wife of his (I think the original korean is some weird phrase like "20 100 million won", which is what 2 * 10^9 won which is about 2 million usd). A better picture for other player salaries is tossgirl on turn from march 2012: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=319066 TG – For the last answer, please tell us about Turn’s dream. Turn – I think I still have not become a successful progamer. Personally unless you’re not considered as the team’s ace I think you can almost call yourself a success, for me to reach that I have to do much better. Looking at it objectively, I think each team’s ace gets a salary of 100 million won [Approx. $ 89150.40 USD]. If I get a salary of 100 million won, that should make me the team’s ace right? also damn you kiett

This is the best news for SC2, if Kespa is able to create an environment where SC2 pro's are able to be paid at those rates..... the scene will grow greatly as more talent will go into esports. Right now, the biggest problem in SC2 is that very few pro's are really able to eek out a career, and that provides a big dis-incentive for talented people to pursue it.

Holy balls. At around 2:10, just as Flash's scouting SCV leaves the base, he pulls the SCV building the Barracks to plant down at Supply Depot to block the scouting Probe that comes into vision a split second later. So gosu. Nerdgasm.

re salaries: + Show Spoiler + Take excitement over Kespa salaries with a grain of salt. I mentioned something about KT doubling player salaries after winning spl '10-'11, but I only found interviews and this news summary post where stats was confirmed to have doubled his salary after winning to around 100 million won: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=261160. In winner's interview the coach talked about how after winning '09-'10 proleague salaries were increased as well, but that didn't have a concrete number. But, the grain of salt comes in with poor conditions of B teamers often, and even A teamers aren't payed super well (re action: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=331217) if the team didn't do well or is having trouble, as estro was at the time with action. I reskimmed this but B teamers aren't really payed much (about 500 USD per month; basically living expenses): http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=126075 is a good (but older) thread but I believe still relevant. It's kind of saying how progaming isn't treated as labour even though contracts are in place, and so lower level B teamers and stuff don't even get payed the minimum wage for the number of hours they work per week (even though some have contracts I guess). Top progamers get payed well, but even people like Hiya had something like 30k USD a year and retired. Now although that is higher than sc2 korean pros, many win more than that by being in code S consistently/other tournaments. The progamers in top 30-60 in brood war are probably payed a bit less than is said in press releases and the sort. And a lot is at the whim of the big corporate sponsors: they can someday just decide to raise the salaries for winning proleague, or pull out (as was the case with hwaseung afaik) sc2 teams and foreign teams seem to pool together lots of sponsors. Brood war obviously has other sponsors too (you can see sponsors on skt uniforms, etc), but by far the money seems to be from the big corporate organization.
