Basically they actually listened, I just don't really see why some of that stuff (like play game from replay) which would be needed asap can't be released as a patch for wol. Ah well better late than never, I just hope this won't result in a huge "omg blizz you are the best wave" as we should have had half those features and most of the 1.5 patch features when the game came out.

Can you imagine a baseball game or football match where there was a quarter/half second delay in player reaction? The players and the fans would hate it. That is what SC2 is right now. Yes, we REALLY want LAN. So much that we will fight for it over 7 years, 2 expansions and forever, until someone (Blizzard or otherwise) makes it happen. Are you an PC gaming engineer? Why do you think LAN is required to make no latency possible? LAN is an Ancient Technology, everyone in the IT industry knows that. Your logic is flawed, as simple as that.

I never really understood it myself, but ladder anxiety is a apparently a very real issue, if the number of threads/features about it is anything to go by. I think it is great. It will give people a chance to try things out in a stress free environment, and then give them a place to have "competitive" games for when they feel ready to really try something out. One of the biggest issues with the current system is that the ladder is BOTH the competitive environment AND the practice environment for your run of the mill player (like myself). I'm looking forward to having both available. The ladder itself will probably become even more competitive, but that is fine with me!

I'm not really surprised by that move from a marketing stance either, to be honest. Some people want additional features than just the new units. A true expansion in every way possible. And these can be advertised. I wonder if they'll hold back anything we really want for LotV.

Global Play. Definitely seemed like a greedy business decision when SC2 was released, surely this couldn't have been too hard to implement before, but why the change of heart now? Maybe they knew only hardcore players would buy to play in multiple regions and now that most of them have already done so it's probably safe to let the casuals do it for free, which is a move that 99% of players can approve and praise blizzard for and it also contributes to growing their game as a global esport. It's still a slap in the face to the few who bought multiple copies. One major feature still shockingly absent - UI redesign. While most complaints about LAN support boil down to pure rage and embarassing moments of tournament lag/disconnects, the UI complaint has been made over and over again in very long very detailed threads generating thousands of replys and promoting tons of community brainstorming and custom user-made concept art. It's an issue that's certainly been around for as long as all the other issues, and it's definitely been given the far reaching voice and attention of community leaders such as Husky, so where is Blizzard on addressing this? Surely with the release of a new expansion must come some kind of UI redesign, right? It could be as massive of an overhaul as we all hope it will be, or it could be as simple and disappointing as a change of skin. It's hard to tell with Blizzard. The thing is, if they were going to do anything to the UI it seems like a good time to let it be known while announcing all these other great features. The lack of any news about it now kind of makes me fear for the worst for HotS UI...
