Winners would get to wear a special icon or maybe be listed on a special ladder for a month. My memory is hazy but didn't they already have that in WC3? It'd make the game way more exciting and give people something to train for. | ||

Also I think they're trying to address the ladder anxiety issues. I mean if you want Sc2 to become popular, you're probably going to tackle one of the most important issues, i.e. whether people enjoy playing the game or not. If it decreases anxiety, if it works...then it could change things in the sc2 e-sports scene significantly. Edit: Actually that probably wouldn't work as they'd still have to play a ton to rank up, having to deal with the same anxiety. Nevermind! | ||

It allows people to practice more unusual builds or offracing without having to buy another account to do so, or threatening their ranking. It also gives people with ladder anxiety a way to wind down. It's not like it's compulsory... Plus practically every online game these days has unranked so | ||
