Not the Korean ones.

Or you can use mod powers to permaban the jackass trolls instead of wasting life talking to them....?

I don't want to support someone (Slayers Jessica) who is defacing an organization by demonstrating such irrational behavior. Say that it is Korean culture or something of that sort, but she is a representative of an organization that wants outside financial support and has a lot of fans overseas. Stop with the ridiculous overreactions you are harming the Slayers fanbase for personal reasons. Every antislayers trollfan that is born from this is on her head.
Why would Slayers lose fans over this? Because Jessica speaks her frustrations publicly a lot, you're telling me that people are going to stop watching Slayers in GSL and GSTL? Why are you so distraught over an internet troll getting what he/she probably deserves?
Give me a break, you're the one who's being the drama llama. Let her do what she wants and stop acting like the troll is getting punished for free speech. He was being a douchebag and he's being treated like a douchebag.

She is doing something I think a lot of people want to do. and hell, I know most streamers who would like to give trolls a peice of their own medicine. Prime TV has many of the same Issues, and I would sure as hell like to sue them. but I don't because I'm not weathly enough to sure someone.
More power to Jessica to do this. Don't cross her or she will make sure you pay. Sueing people for calling you names on a stream-chat? Are you serious? 99.9% of the right-minded people would use the ban-hammer to deal with a situation like that. You don't go around and sue people for insulting you, you feel bad for them being stupid and you move along. Its more than Just banning. People make new accounts and it starts all over again. Jessica won't succed with this, Nor do I think she will go much further than filing papers. But more to the point. It stops people in their tracks if they want to troll and be insulting. God knows when I was on stream for like 30 seconds on Prime TV. Holy hell did I get called names. Not just fatass or stuff like that. but it got pretty severe to a point when I would avoid going to the bathroom while they were streaming in order to avoid names being thrown at me (both bathrooms are on the other side of the streaming computer and there is only one route to them which is past the streaming computer) but eventually mkp just made me be on camera. So I got used to it. But more to the point though. It this helps decrease the amount of trolls in their chat, More power to them. Words hurt. Yes bans are possible, but still. Words do hurt. You're not a healthy person if someone gets to you on the internet. As a woman in Jessica's position, she should know better. Thats not the point. Word do hurt. No matter where they come from. I don't care if they come from the internet or a bum on the street. Words hurt people. And its not that she saw it happen once and she flipped. As the article states it happend many time and she finally lost her cool. I would too and I have many times, but you guys/gals don't see that.
My point is, she shouldn't at any time lose her "cool." Not for a woman in her position. She's a professional. Knowing Jessica, which I'd like to think most of us do, she do like to overreact. She's not a person who's fit to deal with PR, although she's doing it anyway.
I "see" where you're coming from but I don't agree with you. I'm better than that, and I know it. So if you want to go around and sue people on the internet for having bad manners then go ahead. Be a poor example of a good individual and do so.
Nothing in the Rules of Conduct of Own3d.tv says that you cannot behave inappropriately. It is the responsibility of the channel owners.
Additionally, I'd like to remind you that we're talking about two different issues here. One being whether or not Jessica reacted appropriately and another being whether or not people should sue each other for insulting one another on the internet.

Yeah this is stupid... Honestly the charges are just ridiculous, Jessica should drop the charges just because the punishment clearly doesn't fit the crime...

People in this thread are defending sexual harassment? Seriously? So much for that self-righteousness people liked to claim when that whole fighting game community thing flared up.

Cannibalism is a cultural thing too. Point being: it doesn't make it less ridiculous only because it's culturally attached.

People seem to lack awareness of the way internet harassment works in Korea. It's serious business over there, especially given the link between the SSN and one's online presence. Jessica is being a bit extreme, but I support her in this regard.

Am I the only one hoping she wins, and he gets a big fine. Internet trolls might be the most annoying thing to the internet besides latency. Prison seems a bit too harsh, but 40K would really scare other trolls away.

GURL POWA GO JESSICA!
Show the eSports world that you are a beautiful strong Korean woman who don’t need no man!

You completely missed the point of his post. No, I didn't. The "cultural differences" excuse is so vague and overplayed that it's been addressed in every thread similar to this. You can ignore trolls even if you're Korean and Korea is not the only place that supposedly cares about trolling. Many countries have tried to legislate against online abuse and threats.

first of all i like SlayerS but Jessica is so annoying and unfriendly that i am starting to dislike whole team, she is damaging SlayerS a lot ...
|
she is obviously overreacting to everything. I wonder if she is the cause HuK choosing to stay in OGS house instead and a lot of players leaving Slayers and them not joining the new sc2 federation. She might be just unbearable real life.

that guy deserves it. hopefully that teaches him a lesson

that woman has some serious issues
