Well as much as I am a fan of BoxeR, her wife sure is annoying.
I guess its just Korean culture that I won't fully understand.
Why don't you just use the banhammer or dont read. -,-
Is the guy getting sued from Korea?

Wow, just wow. Really? Not that I know her in any way, except the drama stuff, but she sounds like a annoying person that can't handle things not going her way. Guy gets prosecuted instead of being banned from chat? Ridiculous.
@GloPikkle (edit) Sure, if I go sue someone for harrasing me on the internet (assuming it's not real life bullying) then judge me all you want. But I won't do that because why the fuck should I care about what some random dick calls me? It happens on ladder all the time, and if I would sue everyone that's done it to me I wouldn't have time for anything else.

I guess the prosecutor was korean as it wouldnt be possible to sue anyone for doing this in western countries. Actually i kinda like what Korea is doing. Basicly this mean nobody can be mean towards each other on internet.
Jessica hasnt done anything wrong, she is just mature.

glad the korean laws work like that. clean the internet, one troll at a time.

Call the police? say username and time and they will investigate the name... easy. you are not anony in he internet and law is valid here too. If its an american site, just call the american police... the police will laugh about you and own3d is an austrian site btw (although you are probably sarcastic) Im not. I go to lawyer he get a lawyer in the country of the website. This lawyer say the police/court he want to sue a internet user and need the address. The austrian police take the ip from own3d. Lets say its an american ip. My lawyer calls an american lawyer who say he have a case against the user of this ip. The American lawyer sue the owner of the ip, the court get the name from the provider. All i have to do for this: One call to my lawyer. They do this kind of stuff every day.
In this case: He connected over webchat to a irc server. A simple whois gives me his ip and a trace his provider. If hes korean too, so its way easier for my lawyer. (not that i care , he pay the bill)
So basic: The police dont laugh because they do this thousand times a day...

Korea is a HIGHLY wired society. There has to be rules in place because that is just how the culture is. Its strict there and bming isnt acceptable even if its real life or internet. What Jessica did is completely allowed and legal in korea and completely acceptable. It just so happens the REST of u guys dont think the same because of cultural differences.
You guys think she is overreacting... its completely normal how it is. There are laws for internet in korea :/ Cannibalism is a cultural thing too. Point being: it doesn't make it less ridiculous only because it's culturally attached. Yes it does actually. If you were part of a culture that accepted cannibalism, you'd think it's perfectly normal.
Fortunately, 99.9% of cultures don't accept it.

Torn between dislike of Jessica's inability to ignore this kind of trash and absolute love of a random on the internet getting his for being a moron on twitch chat.

More dramas for the llamas

It's not an over-reaction by Jessica. She's had enough of this verbal abuse bullshit and is try to set an example. I'm not really going to defend someone for being a dick. That being said, it can be very hard to file a lawsuit of something said over the internet for multiple reasons. Biggest is obviously that you need to tie the person to the account that was doing the harassing. Another thing is that it just isn't practical. I mean if a smart person wants to be a dick to you, he is most likely able to succeed due to how the internet works. If you are actually able to track the person down, it's most likely not a very thought out harass or the person is very young and/or in a poor state(fx. high mental issues). Then there's the fact the internet is kind of like a hydra, you cut one head and 2 come back. You are just opening yourself up to more harass really. All of this just leads to bad PR.

I guess no one really understands the culture in Korea. Celebrities have sued netizens in the past, Jessica isn't the first

I saw this yesterday and thought about translating the article but it's so seriously dumb that I couldn't bring myself to do it. The OP has all the essential info though.

You wouldn't want someone to judge you like that would you?
It'll probably teach him a lesson. Given that he's a moron, no guarantee I suppose.
