However I'm just one individual, many others don't feel the same way so I don't think Team Liquid's reputation is in any danger. I understand where you're coming from. It's not that it's intrinsically bad for any team to pick up a strong free agent - that's exactly how things should be in the SC2 business. However, an unfortunate unavoidable side-effect from this is if that free agent happens to beast it up and win a huge tournament in the near future, it does indeed seem a little "cheap" for the team to take credit. It's not like anyone's at fault here, that's just how things are sometimes. I wouldn't say that picking up a ridiculously strong Korean "cheapens" your team at all in the long run, and it would be very unfair to see things that way. However, a more "homegrown" player achieving great things looks better for the team than a newly acquired player doing so, simple as that.

Clearly what he means is that when you recruit a new player who's actually good you shouldn't let them attend events in your colours for a year.... wait, no that can't be right.

I just feel that buying willing Korean talent cheapens Liquid a little. Let say that after joining TL Taeja wins a GLS. You can then say that TL is now a top team with prestigious wins, but in honesty that wouldn't be the result of TL training, it'd be Slayers training that allowed Taeja to win. Having said that if these Koreans still do well in foreign teams a year from now then I can't complain. Anyway this is just a little pet peeve of mine and really doesn't have any bearing. This is how sports work. Players leave teams that raised them and continue their careers elsewhere, for various reasons, because it's the best thing for them. I'm sad Taeja left Slayers, after he got Boxer back into Code S and there was that awesome moment where Boxer came and hugged him, but it happens man. It's way overly sentimental to say that picking up free agents cheapens your team because they didn't raise them personally...I'm sure 99% of players are more interested in their personal careers. It's not about what Liquid wants to do to get ahead, it's what Taeja wants.

Hope to see improvement from the entire roster now that it has such strong players of each race (no offense to jinro)
