That is a real bad analogy. People from Naples cheer for Napoli. That is true. But if, say as an extreme example, Messi was going to join Napoli, people from Naples will still cheer for Napoli and will also cheer Messi as he would help their team achieve greater heights.
Now, please replace Napoli with Team Liquid; people from Naples with foreign community/TL fans; and Messi with Taeja; and you will realize that your analogy is inherently flawed and a real sports analogy actual actually defeats your argument.

What a terrible move by Liquid. Being a traitor to the foreigners by signing possibly the best free agent there has been in the past year. Who would want to sign a player who is young, has already become one of the best Terrans in the world by living at home, and has a charismatic personality? Insane. Why would they want to have the best team possible and get enough players to play in next season's GSTL with three Code S quality players?
They should have signed a female from Azerbaijan.

I agree but at the same time, Taeja did not live in the slayers house. He is 16 years old, and technically still in school. He lives at home with his parents who apparently were opposed to him becoming a progamer. In addition, there are many foreign players who live at team houses that don't come close to koreans in terms of skill. I don't think just having a team house and all your living expenses paid for is the full story. Just saying that if we supported programers more, then they would get better is a fallacy. Following that logic, no one would have started e-sports as in the beginning, there would be no support for them and therefore, no one would pursue it competitively.

Liquid is extremely picky with their players, and they don't just them go either. It would be nice if there were non koreans that were any good but right now it's slim pickings and the ones that are already have teams. Liquid let one get away but with the room in the budget from that move they've grabbed a nice stable of extremely talented players that seem like good guys in general.
