Why would they want to have the best team possible and get enough players to play in next season's GSTL with three Code S quality players?
They should have signed a female from Azerbaijan. What's with the whole "female from Azerbaijan" quip? It sounds vaguely offensive to this forumer. Someone else might be inflamed.
I picked a foreign country. You can literally change Azerbaijan with any country in the world that isn't Korea.

wait, is it just me or is Taeja now on the top of the TLPD list on the right despite having nothing listed since february 29th? lol nice.

They should have signed a female from Azerbaijan. Actually a transgender beauty contest winner from Comoros. I was thinking an female amish 43 year old aspiring pro cow milker personally.
Cow-milking is a proud and ancient profession. /srsbsns

So you want teams to ignore promising Korean free agents because they are Korean? If people want their beloved foreigner teams to stay foreigner-only, then foreigners need to play better so that there is no incentive to recruit Korean talent. TaeJa is easily a top 10 worldwide Terran (an argument could be made for top 5, although it's crowded up there) and has most of his career ahead of him. This is a great pickup and helps strengthen the Terran lineup of Liquid. Jinro has been oh so lonely since TLO switched back to Zerg. GL to TaeJa and Liquid~! Foreigners aren't going to get better when they have no hope of receiving support and investment from foreigner teams until they are as good as Code S Koreans - and that's not going to happen without training in a team house. It's one more nail in the coffin for the foreigner's scene. People who think this is going to make foreigners practice harder are very naive - the way foreigners dealt with the lack of support in BW was... By not playing. Then BW ceased being an international eSport. SC 2 is going the same way. I agree but at the same time, Taeja did not live in the slayers house. He is 16 years old, and technically still in school. He lives at home with his parents who apparently were opposed to him becoming a progamer. In addition, there are many foreign players who live at team houses that don't come close to koreans in terms of skill. I don't think just having a team house and all your living expenses paid for is the full story. Just saying that if we supported programers more, then they would get better is a fallacy. Following that logic, no one would have started e-sports as in the beginning, there would be no support for them and therefore, no one would pursue it competitively.
That's where entrepreneurs come in. Esports was dead in the water without those initial risk-takers.
Right now, no one wants to take a risk with the foreigner's scene. That tells me that the foreigner's scene is on its last legs. Not saying that Liquid is wrong to recruit Taeja - rather this is a miner's canary for how bad the condition has become for up-and-comers in the foreigner's scene - ie they're non-existent.

Congrats to both parties, seems like a fitting match.

Nine riders. Nine Nazgul.

Congrats! This was quite a shock to see upon opening the TL homepage, but one that is party-worthy!
Code S Trifecta of Zenio, HerO and Taeja is pretty scary.
Also, when are you just gonna flat out buy Korea? It's the natural next step to world domination.

AWESOME. TL is getting better and better with each new recruit!

50 bucks says EG picks up another Korean in a few weeks. Can't let Liquid get ahead, now can they?
|
What a fantastic pick-up. So glad to see the rumors weren't just trollbait (Hayder...) and Liquid has a BEAST terran to go along with Jinro.
So freakin pumped for GSL now :D

No, foreign teams will recruit foreign talent (already shown skill etc) from other smaller teams but its more likely considered "upgrade" for the player. Korean joining is not same thing.

congrats to you sir well deservered
