Flash is going to have to be pretty fucking amazing for KTF to sell mobile phone plans in North America or Europe (assuming they want to waste the money trying to break into those markets when SEA is much more accessible and lucrative).

On March 18 2012 07:57 oBlade wrote: Forikorder, your point doesn't make sense when you apply it to the group. You are saying Flash would like it if KeSPA leagues switched to SC2 because he'd have a salary along with presumably the first place prize of every tournament that exists (although this isn't 2010 anymore). In this way he'd eke out a little bit more money than he would taking his salary and winning tournaments/getting performance bonuses as he already does right now. That just wouldn't apply to the group. If Flash is winning all the tournaments, where's the extra opportunity for other players? As a group there isn't more money for them in SC2 right now. SC2 leagues are saturated with players and they have top-heavy prizes. So it might make sense for a random player to switch to SC2 alone if he doesn't feel he can cut it and wants to try a different game. if the BW pros switch then sponsors switch and audience (at least some of it) switch too, as a result the scene all of a suddoen becomes alot bigger with bigger players and bigger audiences so more sponsors are wanting to invest in the scene so more tournaments
flash cant be at every tournament, even now there are tournaments happening at the same time and thatll become more often as more tournaments are put out so the non-flash BW pros can pick a tournament flash isnt going to, especially if there schedule isnt completely synched with Flashs (like for instance if one MLG flash is playing a match and cant go) and even if they dont win the forieng tournaments placing second or third still comes with a good prize pool and theres still being able to go to a place like an MLG with huge crowds cheering for them

Doesn't make too much sense to me, just let players play whatever games they want and the sponsors will follow. Seems a bit cynical to say which games players and leagues should play in the name of esports.

I see you're from Croatia so I'm guessing English isn't your first language which might explain the confusion. What he means by crap is in the sense "anything", not necessarily sc2. (I.e. I don't need to embrace anything if I don't want to)
And he's right. Just because sc2 has Starcraft in its name does not mean I or he or anyone is required to support it if we don't want to

The TL forums are a combination of many things. You don't have to like everything.
A basketball player doesn't have to fancy hockey.
If you aren't interested in LoL, SC2, BW, etc. no one is forcing it on you.

People seem to be confusing things. It's not 'players switch->sponsors switch', I'd expect the sequence to be 'sponsors switch->players switch'.
