They are just as bad. -__-

So much cluelessness in this thread.

i know, but the oldies and goldies should be pillars of this community (notice how i dont make distinction between the two), weeding out the provoking idiots that go "flash in sc2? omgzzz", not flaming with them. let alone inciting the flame first.

I wholeheartedly hope that SKT, KT and co. only send their B-teamers to SC2, that should be enough to be a tip top SC2 team.

I think that the difference between BW top dogs who switch over (and other really good SC2 players) and "normal" SC2 pros will be quite noticeable - but there will never be an SC2 bonjwa. I can see long win streaks, though.

Oversimplifying. In SC2, like most RTS games, more mirco means that it takes less army supply to achieve the same task. With less APM needed to macro, micro potential would increase.

Saying Flash wouldn't be dramatically better than someone with less accuracy and APM than him, simply because the mechanics of the game are different, is illogical.

If a top player will make way more money playing SC:BW than SC2, they will probably play SC:BW. If the player made the same choice with opposite monetary opportunities, you could make your argument with some substance behind it.

only becuase of the big salaries they get im sure if you compared to how much flash could make cleaning up every major forieng tournament it would be a large chunk of money

His salary alone comes close to the money he'd make winning every major tourney. Why risk it?

"Only" seems to trivialize how important salaries are and how lucky we are that a decade-old scene is stable with salaried players and a professional team structure, rather than the conditions the very old school had to put up with.

Can someone actually explain to me how KeSPA makes money? I see everyone talking doing this will make KeSPA more money because of the larger foreign audience.

I have the impression that KeSPA is tasked with finding huge sponsors for BW events like OSL hence names, for example Jin Air Starleague. These events are also sent on TV by OGN. So exactly where in this process does KeSPAs money come from?

How is gom making money? By having foreigners buy subscriptions. OGN will be able to do the same.

Why would for example SK-Telecom a Korea centric corporation sponsor SC2 like they've sponsored PL this season? If no one sponsors PL, would OGN have a turnament which people can buy subscriptions from?

I'm not saying that x or y will/not happen. I'm just throwing my thoughts out there.

why does Hot Six, a Korea centric company, sponsor the GSL?

Who knows? Does Hot Six pour so much cash into GSL that it can be called Hot Six GSL?

They don't seem to be a large company considering the only thing I find when I google them are porn sites and a wiki page doesn't even seem to exsist.

and who would send him there? dont think KT (korean company) cares that much what he does in foreigner tournaments and rather have him play in korean leagues.

Good point. KTF doesn't care about the Western market.

because he wouldnt, if the entire BW scene shifts to SC2 and his salary remains the same then all it akes from him is flying out for a couple days to tear apart a tourny, assuming he can get a couple days without a match then it wouldnt affect his results at all and hed get alot more money

Then the argument is moot cause the switch is already made.

If you read the discussion, he's asking why Flash wouldn't switch to make more money through winning every tournament with ease. If he had the choice to switch and still keep his salary, then there'd be something to argue.

Forikorder, your point doesn't make sense when you apply it to the group. You are saying Flash would like it if KeSPA leagues switched to SC2 because he'd have a salary along with presumably the first place prize of every tournament that exists (although this isn't 2010 anymore). In this way he'd eke out a little bit more money than he would taking his salary and winning tournaments/getting performance bonuses as he already does right now. That just wouldn't apply to the group. If Flash is winning all the tournaments, where's the extra opportunity for other players? As a group there isn't more money for them in SC2 right now. SC2 leagues are saturated with players and they have top-heavy prizes. So it might make sense for a random player to switch to SC2 alone if he doesn't feel he can cut it and wants to try a different game.

I know exactly what you mean. I want to see how they would change the SC2 meta game but at the same time I want to keep watching BW because I find it more entertaining. I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too.

If there was demand for Flash to play outside of Korea, I think it would reach the point that it would be foolish for any team to say no to him going.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

History, part 2 : LoL is overtaking over SC2. LoL is huge simplifield on every level and aspect of the game, compared to SC2.
SC2 fan reaction : It is not good, because it is simple !!!

Both parts of the history are basically the same. I just do not get, why SC2 fans are mad only about the part 2... they should be mad at both parts.

Because Sc2 is the SUCCESSOR to starcraft brood war. Brood war fans need to embrace this. Need to. LoL is going to take over brood war AND sc2 if not. What would you rather see? SC2 can only continue to get better, As it has shown. People need to give it a chance. And they will.

i dont need to embrace crap. you esports zealots are off your rocker. i like bw therefore i play and watch bw. end of story.

But they do care about money. Also how do you know if they do or don't have interest in? Do you work for them? Are you their ceo? Nope, so stop assuming stuff.

Current state of the game let alone the different tournament structures, tournaments, etc.? Bloody unlikely. There is no unification whatsoever.

Good thing Blizzard has two expansions to go to get it right, but there are other persistent problems out there too.
