What? Idra tells people they suck at Starcraft, that their race is imbalanced, or that they are getting cheap wins, but I don't see him calling people "niggers" very often. What Idra does is much different than what Orb did. He can be an asshole to people, but it's not on that level of offensive. Not even close. Due the age of the comments I think that it is both unfortunate that you actually used this language (regardless of the intent), and that it is correct that you do some image scrubbing before coming back to represent as prestigious an organization as EG. At the same time, however, I think that this is something that can be forgiven as all parties have learned a lesson.
In fact, I think this sets a good example to the SC2 community as a whole as to the effects of using stupid language like that (including other words, like faggot) and the repercussions it has once people decide to take your actions from a video game and put them into real life.
I hope we become a better community because of this. Good on you for owning up in full.

What dont you guys understand? EG is a company; it allows a bunch of ppl to earn money to live their life. THeir number one goal is to obviously make money.
Idra, BM or not, has always been good publicity for EG either way, no matter all the talk about idras Bm, most ppl like him and will watch his games and stuff. No1 ever complained to sponsors or to EG that they should kick Idra, they like idra, hes good for sponsors and publicity, and EG and the sponsors know it. Idra has also matured quite a bit over time and he has class. He knows where to not cross the line. He also has been part of EG for a long time, and has been a great part of the reason why they are where they are at IN starcraft2 right now. He got EG known in Korea in the first few GSLs. When IDra streams, he reaches around 10k viewers, a lil bit more than orbs 300.
Now the Orb case is totally different. He had JUST joined the team as a Broadcaster only. Thats like the image, the mascott, the voice of the team.
Im sure they would have been ok and understand that the past is the past and that orb could change is behavior; the problem was, they were at risk of losing A LOT OF MONEY!! People were starting to HATE on eg hardcore, threaten to NOT watch their stuff, and they complained to sponsors that they would NOT buy their products if Orb stayed.
What that means is massive money loss, and it would be harder to get sponsors in the future. No business wants to lose money, just to be fair to some random guy who just joined the team as a broadcaster.... Orb can be replaced, why would they risk losing alot of money, and possibly ruining the Team just to respect an individual who doesnt really deserve that much respect if he cant show respect to others.
They did what they had to do, and they did it very professionnally. They waited a few days, did their own research, and made sure that they had no choice to get rid of Orb before acting. They did it for the well beeing of every member and worker at EG that have been part of the team for a long time, it would not be fair that they would lose quality of life for someone elses mistake.
Overall, no matter what you say, Idra has a positive impact on EG, where has ORb was having a negative one, and everyone should agree with that. The *fairness* non sense about idra bming too doesnt have its place, its a business not an amateur sports team with non lucrative goal.
I can assure you that they did and will talk to Idra, and i promise you that you wont see as much Idra bad bm in the future.

i hadnt thought about that its certainly possible, its obvious that he gets a ton more viewers when he commentates so it is pretty odd that hes never done it since the more i think about it the more likely it seems to me especially since InControl, Machine and Demuslin have been commentating I think it's a strong possibility as well. InControl has intimated that EG Management pretty much facepalms when he rages, but they don't go about advertising disciplinary action -- they keep it in-house whenever they can. In regards to whether firing Orb is hypocritical when you have a personality like IdrA, I don't think it is -- at least not intentionally. I can't imagine Alex enjoying or even being apathetic to IdrA's use of the word fag. I don't think EG employees are even supposed to suggest 'rape'. Up until this point, EG has been tolerant of IdrA's behaviour. But sometimes it takes someone to cross the line before you know what the appropriate consequences should be. This is common in business, government, everywhere. There's no rule at my work that says I can't piss in the office sink. But if I did and was caught I'm positive I would be fired. And there would be very little point in arguing, "Yeah, but Jim got drunk at the office party and threw up in the sink and half-digested food is just as unsanitary and gross!" alex tweeted not long after his statement that whenever idra said faggot he got a stern talking to from Alex personally so i wouldnt say theyve been too toleratn of his behaviour and im sick of people saying its because orb is young and new and Idra brings them in money Orb was hired for how he conducts himself in public, ladder is not private it is public IdrA was hired for how well he smashs face in a game Orb has said far worse then IdrA ever has
Its really not EG's reaction that's bullshit. It's the community's reaction that fucked Orb over. I don't think many people blame EG at all.
It's the fact that the community doesn't try to go straight for EG's sponsors when IdrA is BM. People aren't trying to get Destiny off of Quantic, are they? The hypocrisy is in the community, not EG.

Lol. Not even 2 months ago I posted about Orb specifically when he made ignorant and offensive comments on Desrow going to Korea. I posted about the fact that people in the limelight need to learn how to act and behave or it will bite them in the ass... Im therefore not very surprised about this, but I do hope Orb learns something here. You're lucky to have the job you got, about 100 people are competing right now to be in your spot, watch what you say, because right now, you are disposable.

Orb, I have no problems with the idea of people BMing if they are angry, but when you're being serious, AND it's on a livestream/youtube, etc. (i.e. people are watching) that is a problem. If you BM'd a little on ladder on your own, nobody would know/care. I think the issue is more that it seems like you don't care about your stream by doing this. I have no problem with you Orb, I only wish you hadn't bm'd to an audience.
