Basically, an actual apology is worth something if the person has integrity. Then you come into consideration whether or not the person has integrity, and if they did have integrity would they do what they did in the first place. Only real option is they are sincere they never thought what they did would have consequences, or was morally wrong. | ||

The word had the intent to be both derogatory and insulting, however it's used far too commonly by everyone to be effective. Every offensive term you can think of is not used frequently and ones that are used the least tend to be the most offensive. Other social factors have weight, like original use of the term, well known figures who famously used the word in statements or speeches. It gets to be a rather deep and complicated social phenomena, however it is a fact. The other way to present this is that offensive words are not used frequently BECAUSE they are offensive, however that is a narrow way of looking at the topic. In reality both aspects are related and affect the use of the word and how it is interpreted. Also to add, the high use of the n-word in all the rap songs has not increased it's offensiveness in any way. | ||
