Thank you for the news.
Wow what a brilliant comment. You put my thoughts into words so eloquently.
I think that this is a HUGE overreaction and I'm very sad to see Orb get fired over something so small as this is. I think that he is a great caster and a good guy. Really pissed that people actually went out of their way to complain to EG's sponsors about this, sounds like they are the same people who complain about McDonald's coffee being too hot.
Hope that this doesn't mess up your career too much Orb... Good luck.

Alex, you just opened a pandora box...
Context.....context.. Orb also have a special context, yet he's still fired.
A. Nigga and Nigger are different words
B. What do you even mean? Orb's context was meant to be hurtful. (yes, the person he was talking to probably wasn't black)

There is no such thing as a term inherently racist.
"Nigger" etymology mean black. Like the color black. Nothing racist about the color black. As i just said earlier, you're embarrassing yourself.

It was a PR move, EG doesn't want to be considered racist. Your opinion on how offensive the word is means nothing(personally most black people I know don't have much of a problem with it). It's offensive to enough people(mostly white) that keeping him on was no longer worth it.

Gay people weren't enslaved for hundreds of years. gays were killed in the gas chambers of Auschwitz, are we really comparing atrocities here?
Sorry, but you're not the first person to Godwin this thread :p.
I dunno about anyone else, but when I see lines like "complain to sponsors," or my personal favorite, "lost all respect," it's beginning to conjure the image of Ignatius J. Reilly saying, "Mother, contact our attorneys!"
As others have said, all of this complaining to sponsors generally puts us in a bad light. Maybe Orb deserved that bad light, but fearing to lose sponsors probably forced EG's hand, aside from his deception and the past incident itself. Do gamers really want to spread the image of kids fighting in the backseat, crying to parents about their siblings?

I was referring to Silvertine's post, not Destiny.

I honestly think they should give my dude another chance. Sure, he shouldn't of said that stuff, and as a black person I was mildly offended, but look at other players that rage (which is what is was) and not a fucking thing happens to them? People make mistakes, toss dude a bone, he CLEARLY cares about Starcraft 2, and I don't think this little slip up should stop him from pursuing that.

That I find unacceptable. We as fans and supporters of an organization only have so much power, and a lot of that power is in our collective voice. If something that the community finds unacceptable occurs, than the community has every right to bring it to the attention of those that control the purse strings. Going to the sponsors keeps everyone accountable to the community, and insures that people such as yourself only associate with those that reflect only the best of the community. Us going to the sponsors keeps you and everyone associated with you accountable to the sponsors, and therefore to us. That's the way it should be, and I for one am actually very upset that you would explicitly state it was unfair for us to express outrage towards your sponsors, and then to ask us to not do it again in the future. Alex is asking that people give EG a chance to respond to the allegations before going to the sponsors. The reason is that if people complain to the sponsors, the sponsors will assume that whatever accusations they are are accepted and condoned by EG or whatever organization it is when it is just not the case. These companies reading the complaints against EG think that EG is putting out this racism, and Alex is just asking people to at least give him enough time to say "we dont condone this" before damaging his organization. If EG did condone this (which they dont), then by all means contact the sponsors.

People dont take it into account because it was not given as the reason for his dismissal Because they know he lied, but don't have solid proof to present or don't want to. Read between the lines. There is no point in accusing him of lying and creating another mess (people calling for evidence etc.)

Thank you EG for putting this guy in his place.

*For those of you who complained to our sponsors: if you're satisfied with what I've written here, please re-contact them to let them know you're happy with us - really, please do it.
For those of you who didn't initially complain, but are satisfied with this post nonetheless, I'd also ask that you contact our sponsors to let them know you support us.
I think this needs to be done. This should not have an affect on EG's relationships with their sponsors.. lets make sure of that.
Can someone give me the sponsors contact info, twitters emails etc?

Being hurtful or being friendly isnt important. The point when people bring the "context" is about if it was meant to be racist. In BOTH point, it was not.

Ouch, sucks to be Orb right now. =( Still, I think EG did the right thing.

Another scalp for Reddit, and TL helped them a lot this time around. Well, at least, we can all feel very self-righteous because we fought racism and racism is bad.

Alex, as a massive Liquid fanboy, I try so hard to hate your organization (because rivalry's are fun and your team has the word "evil" in it), but I just... I just can't do it. I don't think I've ever respected a CEO more than I do right now. I will still consider things like EG > Liquid fightin' words, but the respect... she is overwhelming.

White people are generally MUCH more offended by the word than blacks (especially on the hyper politically correct TL) in my experience.
Orb will release a heart-felt apology video and he will continue casting though, just not with EG.

People need to stop digging out every important person's use of racial slurs, for both being against and for this action. The point is that the community is going to learn from this. Teams and organizations are going to follow and a standard is going to be set. You trying to destroy every other person's reputation isn't going to make things better for any side of this conflict.
