I could not find another thread about this. Since I am interested in hearing speculations and opinions I'm posting this here, not to cause an upstir or something.
As some of you know earlier today Incredible Miracle uploaded some new pictures of Matt " looknohands119" his visit to the teamhouse. On one of the photos, an unknown player is visible, wearing the IM team jersey, but his face is blurred out. People are speculating it's Flash or Bisu but I personally find this hard to believe although he does have the same arm size as Flash, but a different hair color if I'm not mistaken.
- He looks like flash but Flash wouldn't leave KT quietly, hes worked hard there for years.
- He looks like Bisu but Bisu his hair doesn't have black roots on the back of his head as proven by someone with a recent video from Bisu
- Might be a random/B teamer but why would they blur him out?
- Plays protoss most likely as seen in the photos
- Notice his long, thin arms
- A regular member who doesn't want to be on photo (It's inevitable to have ur picture taken as a member from such an elite & famed team as IM, so this seems unlikely to me personally)
- Losira is a bit more pudgy someone says, he has short hair now & he plays zerg normally
- Lyn doesn't have arms that size
- He seriously does look a lot like Flash lol
- Anyppi, ex KT rolster player who thought about switching
BW players would never disgrace themselves by even being seen with sc2 players. You should be ashamed for even suggesting this. I'm taking my rage to the unimpressed flash meme thread. (jk ^^)
From the most recent pictures of Bisu (from yesterday actually, I think), the hair on the back of his head does not have exposed black roots, so I think that mostly rules him out.
A Korean team having an additional Code B player is nothing. Many unknown players enter and drop out of the teams on a daily basis. Just look at the FXO roster on IPL team league thread. They have like 20 players with a ton of new faces.
i would guess its more likely for BW teams to transform into SC2 teams and buy top SC2 players than for current SC2 teams to afford s class BW players.

You would have to compare the time of the pictures because this picture could have been taken before he got his hair done again.
Yeah, not Flash or Bisu. Possibly another relatively high ranking BW player switching, though. TLBS aren't going to switch any time soon IMO, but other A-teamers could well.
The question is if it is a random, why would they blur his face? If he just doesn't want to be photographed why is he looking towards the camera? I think that it is someone fairly known ^^
There is close to no possibility that it's Flash or Bisu, they would never silently quit the team they plowed for for years and wear an IM jersey. It's probably just a regular player
No its not flash or bisu or any tbls .. they wouldnt wear an IM uniform. It's probably some known (ex-?) player however, or they wouldnt have blurred it. Interesting!
It kinda looks like Lyn or Hero. I know its not and I am not saying its them. The player has REALLY long and thin arms. I don't know if I have seen a small Korean person with that long of arms before.

We're in the Starcraft 2 General forums right? That means spoilers are fine with the new forum rules... It's not like he did something like that in the BW General forum.

So Im supposed to not click any spoilers in the SC2 section because I should anticipate SPL spoilers ? lol.. And the new forums rules only apply to SC2 events.
Im glad he changed it that quickly tho, so nobody but me will get spoilered
Can we just get this out of the way? No current BroodWar progamer would be wearing the IM team shirt, not if he was still part of a broodwar team. Practicing in the house sure, but I see no reason to put the shirt on if you aren't a part of the team.

I was about to post something like this. He probably keeps telling his parents he is going to school, but in reality he is at the IM house!

Exactly, unless he recently hopped and they are wanting to keep it quiet for now. Which would make sense since hed have to adjust to sc2

Probably a safe bet that it's a BW spoiler.
Or like half the pictures in here, a picture of Bisu, it was an accidental spoiler and it was removed so no harm no foul for the most of us. It was just unintentional.

you are probably right i think
and no way that a current bw progamer will practice sc2 in a teamhouse
Nestea did say that Broodwar teams contacted him about training for SC2 and asked his opinion of what up-and-comers they should consider acquiring to help them build their SC2 teams.
Maybe Stats is there as part of some training partnership? He trains with IM and then goes back to teach the KT house what he learns? Maybe IM will partner with KT for SC2 Proleague or something in return?
On March 07 2012 06:55 Usagi wrote: Maybe he is just underage and they are made by law to blurr his face?
Is that a thing? Aren't a lot of these players under age?
Could be all the others there arent underage, dont know. In some countries they are very strict about showing videos or pictures of people under a certain age in any public media.

I'm guessing a BW player who isn't as good as bisu/flash who is on a team and didn't want their face to be shown. Or it's an old school BW player coming back to sc2.

chin surgery??
Yes, his chin kept him from closing his mouth correctly, which is why it was changed. It did not affect his play however. It was last year, too

It's not Stats if the pictures are newish. Stats currently hair style is nowhere close to the guy in the picture. Maybe if it was a month ago, but Stats' current hair style is black and reminds me of MMA's hair style at MLG Anaheim.

Nooo, why do you destroy our hopes...
Polt will not get A Code S seed and will fail to qualify for Code A! ;(
OT: It's not Stats, KT gave him a big salary raise this year because of his clutch performance in the grand finals of PL last year. He has no reason to leave KT and join IM to make less money.
0 chance of this being a BW bonjwa, they are still playing for the masses, making way more money, SC2 teams don't have the money to pay for players like that. Maybe a B-teamer that IM hasn't announced yet and want's to keep a secret for now, or something along those lines.
So either the picture is a month plus old or it's not him.
Thanks for the picture, the pictures are recent since they were posted on facebook today and I started hearing rumors this morning. There is no way to tell when exactly they were taken but I don't think they would be posted after a month or something.
to all thise saying "why would they swich etc pp" Meny current SC2 Pros (incl. NesTea) and Managers (mainly FXOBoss) said that some BW pros are playing SC2 in sc2 teamhouses, that dosnt mean they swiched yet, just that they want to be as good as possible as soon as or if they swich.
However that this player is waring an IM Shirt excludes eny current SC1 Pros from the riddle.
This is like "who's that Pokemon?" except with hair instead of silhouettes and Koreans instead of Pokemon.
Anyways, I don't expect it to be too big of a name. The Korean BW players rumored to be floating around are probably really formidable, but I don't really see top A-teamers switching over in any fashion, especially with Proleague playoffs coming up.

That leads me to a thread where FXOBoss mentioned something about BW Pros switching in a period of a few months. I think that was a few months ago, but I can not find the thread anymore... I am really wiggely and giggely right now, but I think in the end there was nothing spectacular going on.
Could just be that someone not on team is just in the house, didn't sign release papers meaning IM can't use their image in images that they use for promotion or some weird legal thingy.
Tlrdez joined Teamliquid on 18 february from the UK. This pretty much rules out that Tlrdez is korean. And that rules out that this person is Tlrdez ^^

Maybe it's Hiya? He was talking about possibly playing sc2 after taking some time to himself after leaving BW. He wanted to get good at sc2 and accustomed to it before playing it professionally. For those of you who don't know who I'm referring to it's the Ex HwaSeung Oz member Magikarp!

If it was anyone famous (flash/bisu) the visiting foreigner would have talked about it and it would've been leaked out for sure. Not to mention there would be people crowding behind him watching him play. This guy seemed to be minding his own business, probably just a shy guy who doesn't like his pictures on the internet.

Well, certainly not a dissapointment if thats the case. Good find!
While he does look like Flash, i don't think that it is him. If it was Flash a) People would be crowded behind him watching him play b) The visiting guy would have talked about it and it would have leaked out c) Other IM members would have leaked it out d) He's playing protoss (although this reason is almost negligible, since maybe he's just taking the time to learn protoss inside out so that he can play best against it) e) If Flash wanted to keep his SC2 life private, he wouldn't risk doing something like this.

Maybe he's a criminal. Maybe he is a random IM player who just wasn't comfortable being photopgraphed. If it was Flash, Bisu or some big, BIG signing that they have made then he wouldn't have let himself be in the picture to start with and there would have been many more rumours leading up to it.

I like to imagine all of the top BW guys switching to protoss Although perhaps I should hope they dont... if they do protoss would just be more likely to be nerfed... as it is the race representation amongst top players is kinda balanced... if all the new potential good players went toss I'd end up nerfed...

I'm not sure if I want to fuel this rumor further, but FXOBoss also tweeted:
FXOpen e-Sports @FXOpeneSports An EX BW player of importance, [shield] member is currently playing Starcraft 2 with a korean team.
I tried searching on TLPD for [shield] members.
Other than Sea and Bisu, I don't really see any notable [shield] players other than the ones that have already switched to SC2 like MMA, MKP, SangHo, and HerO. 910, Spear, and JiHyun seem to be the only ones with any slight hint of achievements, though their most recent games are over a year or two ago.
Not trying to nitpick, but FXOboss hasn't backed up any of those statements up with evidence or sources, so I'm not really sure his word is golden in regards to this.

I have no idea who FXOboss is, but if Nestea and the IM coach say it too it becomes quite credible in my eyes ^^
Plus, say IF Flash (Using him as example just to get my panties in a twist) would be training for SC2 Who do you think KT would hire to train him? The best. Where do the best get trained/play? At IM
Something is going to happen soon, and it is going to be big. The truth is if they transition to SC2, no top pro loses his contract, so that argument is invalid. Anything is possible, and part of it has been confirmed. The question is just how far do the BW teams stand atm.

I am sure the meta game would evolve quite a lot if all the top BW players switched over at once.
its not stats, stats has a fucked up hairdo right now. its not bisu because the head proportions do not match. its not wooki because wooki because of his competition with stats for Reach's affection.(ok I'm sort of twisting it about the reach part)

He's sitting right next to Seed.. the Bisu lookalike plus Bisu is in a slump. IT MUST BE BISUv2!
but seriously, it looks in every way like Flash's body figure... and I wouldn't be surprised if Flash played for IM future (even if this guy isn't him) because Nestea used to coach him and they also have IMMVP.

I don't think anyone really thinks its flash. I would hope not anyway, I don't see him leaving KT to join IM. I don't see him leaving BW either until it dies or something, I just don't see any reason why he would want to play SC2 while he's doing so well in bw and getting a very nice salary. Its Anyppi. Compare the photo of the whole team where he is standing at the back to a picture of his face. They blurred his face to cause hype, if they really wanted to hide a team member, they would have never released the picture at all.

If I remember the room setup correctly, it was IMSeed. But I'm not certain of that, and quite frankly it doesn't matter at all.
There were TV cameras and official blizzard personalities in the room that day. Most likely some b-teamer didn't want / couldn't have his face on TV.

Because the internet would probably shit on him for having a pimple in the wrong place or something.

Seed is clearly visable in both pictures on the PC second from right. He has much darker hair.

its not stats.
You don't even answer his question.
it makes no sense, if the picture was taken before the haircut then why is he still playing for KT in proleague?
in fact why would he move to IM a team that would outright refuse to pay him a salary that is equal to or greater than the salary that hes getting right now in KT(6 figures in korean won).
What makes you think IM have to be paying this individual? What if he just wants to practice SC2? So many possibilities right now as to who it could be so better just be patient and wait for some solid evidence to come through.

The story... is too perfect to be true... sounds like a cover up.
Go to 5:10, it's another shot of our guy... you can almost see his face
that video is from April of 2011, we are probably looking for a recently switched BW pro, with an announcement pending. and by pending, I don't mean 11 months pending.
Maybe they blurred out that person's face because he is under 18, and there might be legal issues with putting his image on the web without his parents' permission.

I highly doubt it.. the legal age for consent is like 14 or something like that... and that's in Kr years.

Definitely doesn't look like Bisu or Flash though.
If I had to guess I'd say because of Nestea's old connections with KT, and the blurriness somewhat resembling a few KT players. That aside, I wouldn't have the slightest clue.

So first u say it's IMHorror, then u say it's IMSeed and then u think it's "most likely" some b-teamer? I smell troll and besides IMSeed is visible on half the pics
Chuck Norris! I dont really think that they would risk a leak of players like Flash or Bisu switching. It would be a PR desaster to announce that by a simple photo and simple research like he was seen in the same town/street/country near the IM house. in my opinion there are 3 options:
1. They are just trolling us and its Losira 2. Promotion for the movie/dokumentary whatever the cameraguys are doing 3. Just a B - Teamer of another SC2 Team which is not yet announced, maybe because of a "dont promote another team after leaving us" part of his last contract.
There was a picture of the guys face on the previous page, apparently it's anyppi. I didn't follow BW when he played so I can't confirm other than it looked pretty much exactly like every picture i have seen of him.
ok you are a big troll.. thats is bisu , but thats fake obviously..
Stop the non sense and let IM explain ...
Saying its a BW pro is an insult , im a SC2 fan , i dont follow BW but no pro player that has a contract with a team would be playing on IM house with their shirt with Proleague going strong.
Its like Leonel Messi training with another club...

edit: oh, I get it. No idea who might be. Interesting that they'd go so far to blur his face. Well, it's always possible that whatever was discussed with this player remained unofficial and, say, he didn't accept the offer, so we might never know.
This thread got all off balanced. It is obviously Elky in a flash wig as to disguise his identity until they release him on the GSL. He finally said fuck it I'm rich let's get back to starcraft.
I highly doubt it's any current BW player, they are all currently contracted with BW teams and playing in Proleague.
I'm 90% sure that BW player contracts don't permit this kind of action, although I guess it is possible there is an agreement between one of the BW teams and IM for a player to practice with the IM team. And if you're making assumptions then it's not a long shot for him to simply have an IM jersey from spending time with the team. But if he's not on the team why would he be wearing it at a photo shoot (on a day where everyone is mandatory wearing the jerseys, because of the photo shoot. There have been other instances of IM players during practice times and they wear "street clothes").
So this whole line of thinking just kinda leads you in a circle. I still doubt it's a BW pro. But speculation is fun!

Fun indeed! Plus if the BW teams are switching like we know, there would be no surprise in IM training some of them, since they have produced the best players. Plus it could not be flash or bisu since this guy wears glasses if our detective skills are legit ^^ But either way in a couple weeks from now we should have some big teams announcing their sc2 players!
The guy that went to the house posted 2 pics of his face a few pages back and 2 people immediately commented that it was anyppi. I was thinking why he would put up pics of the guy when it was censored out in the first ones but then he removed them immediately afterwards...suspicious.

Uh, more likely the Koreans would boycott that team for doing something completely retarded. They take match-fixing really seriously. They fucking chewed up CoCa and Byun for something completely negligible in comparison. GSL has already stated their upholding SaviOr's ban in Starcraft 2, and no one who knows anything about the scene would let him into any foreign teams if they want any sort of presence in Korea. It's sad, I want to see him play, but it's not going to happen.
I don't understand how u can get a lifetime ban for getting caught the first time. It's a joke imo, 1-2 years ok but a lifetime ban is too much for the first offence plus it were only a couple of games for most of the banned people, not like they were selling OSL & MSL titles..

exactly. i recommend you go youtube a few saviour vids with subtitles or go read up the past, and take into the consideration the impact it had on sc1 and esports in korea.

Because they don't want to give them the chance to get caught the second time. It's their leagues; they don't want cheaters. Simple as that ^^

It's not "being caught the first time" it's "bringing other players to match-fixing and acting as a broker/dealer of shady, thrown games." not the same. It was not an error cause he was young, as in coca/Byun, it was running a business with betting sites which were fucking shady themselves. Totally different. Don't talk like you know please.

I don't believe in 999th chances, but I do believe in second chances since u can only learn from your mistakes. Savior defined zerg in his days, he was alone at the top. Achievements should be taken in consideration. Imagine Flash got banned for life for fixing a match. I would be ok with him being banned for x months but a lifetime? Hell no. I want to see Flash play and dominate, talent is rare and although they shouldn't be given a special treatment, I think a second chance in another game is more than reasonable. I'd also like to see UpMagic return, he was planning to but I guess GOM rather listens to Kespa, which is perfectly understandable and needed for a bright future of BW coming to SC2. Only Kespa could ever allow a comeback I guess

lol you cant be further from the truth, savior would only bring bad reputation to any team because they know what he did and people won't forgive him for it.
Teams disbanding, MBC game shutting down and loss of sponsors all have the match fixing scandal as a primary reason.
I cringe everytime people even suggest savior in any form of professional esports....hell hes(and other match fixers) not even allowed in the sonic starleague(BW semi pro league) because its got big attention now which includes pro casters from OGN.
also from what I understand he doesn't even have an interest in SC2.
sAviOr has a taste in money and I can see a team like EG picking him up for absurd money and get him in all the international events. But I doubt that'll happen since it still hasn't happened after over a year of SC2 esports and EG isn't exactly known for patience.

Savior reminds me of the White Sox in the early 1900s. Shoeless Joe and the Gang. So much talent. Such a shame. Honestly, there is a difference between betting and match-fixing. If savior only bet using his knowledge of the players that's ok by me. Vis a vis, Pete Rose, he should not be banned lifetime for that. However, savior did try to match-fix (to my knowledge), so you won't be seeing him anymore and for good reason. A shame nevertheless.
From what I understood BW players are banned from playing SC2 while under KeSPA contract, however if they want to switch to SC2 at some point, which is reasonable to assume, then they could have removed this restriction.
A player training with IM doesn't indicate he is on IM, just look at the partnerships between EG and Slayers or oGs and TL, a BW team could make a similar partnership to have their pro players ready for the SC2 switch, KT is most likely as has been suggested because NesTea used to be a coach for KT.
As for why the player is wearing the IM jersey, well when the camera crew came they probably gave him a shirt to disguise him. If the camera crew had come along and taken pictures of someone in a KT shirt all of us in this thread would be all over it like monkeys over bananas.
Anyway, looking forward to what you guys dig up next, oh and the enhanced picture was golden!

The one in the second picture is definitely (well maybe 99%) MVP's GF because of the body positioning and MVP's posture in response. IDK about the one next to NesTea though.
Seriously, I am constantly amazed how those progamers manage the snag the hottest looking gals. Most Korean girls absolutely loathe anything video game related. Inb4 BW girls because they pretty much have been following the scene since almost a decade ago.
Yeah they're definitely girls. Probably Nestea and Mvp's girlfriends. You can see from the shots where they're faces are not pixelated that the two people seated next to them have long hairs and feminine faces.

I can guarantee that noone in the EG house would be ok with that. Plus, with Alex Garfield's and Sir Scoots' involvement with esports in general and stances on issues, they wouldn't either. The stereotype of EG being headhunters is getting really old.
For a moment though, I really did think it was Bisu. I'm just slightly disappoint now =/
to clarify a picture with a girl blurred out on a IM team picture, its MVP's girlfriend, she apperantly doesn't want to be known. mvp has not really gave any information about her in interviews so he wants to keep her unknown. oh well
