SC2 could make a lot more fans if Blizzard release a barebone free-install version. Even if only TvT, 3 maps. There are a good amount of AoE, SC1 and other RTS players that don´t tryed SC2 yet. Installing a full version of SC2, with all the patchs, takes too long.

The installation time for WoW including all the expansions and hundreds of patches was easily 10x as long as it is for SC2, yet look at how ridiculously successful WoW was. I don't think Blizzard will ever view this as a legitimate concern

Only downside is you have to set graphic / gameplay / sound settings everytime you start it. Edit: And you have to use a computer were you have permission to install to uppdate SC2. Also patching messed up a couple of times when i didnt restore "Liberty.SC2Campaign". I ran it most of last spring on the adult education college computers.
