Hey all! I've had a lot of time on my hands the last few months and decided to try and make something for the SC2 player community. Ultimately what I wanted was something like tf2lobby for SC2. I've been kicking it around for a while but with all the attention on BNet 0.2 during the last few days I figured this is the best time to get it out there and see if enough people want to use it. I'd love to continue adding features if the demand is there.
What is MoreGG.sc?
I created this tool to help players find opponents who want to play exactly how they do. For 1v1 you can select your opponent's league and race, any maps you want to play on (including GSL and MLG tournament maps), and what kind of series (bo1, bo3, bo5). If a matching opponent is found you will be placed in a chat lobby together where you can see each other's name and character code. To play, you'll have to add each other on BNet and host a custom game according to the settings you chose. It's a pain, but I couldn't think of a better way to do it.
The site also supports custom lobbies. Right now the UI is somewhat like the old custom game list from BW and WC3. To host you specify a lobby name, map name, and max number of players. Players looking to join a custom game will see them all in a list and can choose the specific lobby they want. Again, when the lobby is finished you'll have to arrange the actual custom game on BNet.
Issues
Obviously manually getting in touch with the players you find on BNet sucks. I'd love to have tf2lobby's ability to start the game for all players with the correct settings but Blizzard just doesn't provide the APIs that Valve does.
There's also no way to verify character codes or that players are who they say they are. tf2lobby uses steam's user API but we don't have anything like that for BNet. You can at least block specific players from being matched against you.
Still interested?
Try it out!
Keep in mind that it's beta and will definitely have some bugs to fix but I'd love to hear any and all feedback you have for me. With this basic version complete I'd really like the community to decide where I should take it. What do you think?

very neat tool! looks great
I think it wouldn't be too hard to set up a bot creating games, adding people and inviting them.
Can't it cause a problem if both players are on different servers? Or have you figured that out?

Yup. The global chat is separated by region and players should never get matched against players from another region for 1v1 or see custom games hosted by those in other regions.

This needs much more attention. Really cool.
This is sick, unfortunately the matchmaker cant seem to find anyone for me >_>
This sounds like it has a lot of potential!
It's disheartening when we have to 'exit' battle.net to get this kind of search/league identification/etc functionality, but I digress. This looks like it could be an interesting tool, is there an in game channel for it as well (to cover your bases so to speak)?
Edit: Actually...does someone care to comment/know on whether this violates the b_net TOU in 'mimicking the service'?

Yeah, there aren't a lot of people on yet and it really depends on having a lot of active users to find a match. I'll be adding an indicator of how many people are in queue today. If things don't pick up maybe I'll try to schedule a time for everyone who's interested to log on and get it rolling.

Unfortunately I'm not at home so I can't start a channel but I will tonight, it'll be moreggsc.

Sick!!
More ways to practice!
spread the word everyone!
Let's get this big! Someone x-post to reddit maybe?
Sounds like a great tool! I'll try and idle in it when I'm online to get the numbers on, but it REALLY relies on a lot of people getting involved (which they should).
Love the idea, and I'll try it when I get home. The one thing I feel is needed still from B.net 2.0 is the ability to choose the race you'd like to play against. Barring friends/practice partners, there's no way to simply pick-up a game in a specific match-up, and it's infuriating.

epic website, im a fan. will need a chat channel system soon enough, there might be too many people in the 1 chat if it gets too popular
It's not connecting to server...
If more great third party fan tools spring up and become popular, perhaps they would make Blizzard move faster as well. Win-win for the fans. Good stuff.
very nice, I have always wanted to have something similar to ICCUP where you were able to ladder on one matchup only. I guess this is close enough.
this actually looks pretty slick, ill defenetly try it out in the future

Just pushed out a small update!
Changes
- The page title will now show the number of unread chat messages if you have the site minimized or another tab active.
- Made the chat taller, unified button sizes, compacted user details.
- Fixed bug where chat would scroll to the top when returning to the lobby from another page.
- Added stats display for number of online and queued players.
- Changed server port to 443 to possibly fix a problem where some users hang at 'Connecting to server..'

You're the second person I've heard this from, I'm thinking it might be a firewall issue. I changed the port so see if it works now. You can PM me if it doesn't and you'd like to help me figure it out.
this seems pretty useful, thanks for making this! :D
Wanna set up a time to meet up guys and give this thing a whirl? No one is ever queuing so its practically impossible to make this thing work atm.
You should PM the owner about your time so he can update the OP with the meeting time to really test it out, as more people will see.
seems cool. i don't know how often i'd use it myself quite yet but i want to see it grow and see what it turns into. options are good.
looks pretty awesome!
pretty good job congrats.
Thanks for all the feedback, I realize it's pretty empty right now though. I'll be updating the OP with a specific time for everyone to log on after I've made a few updates and hopefully see what it's like with more players online.
wow this looks very promising. Finally I can play GSL maps.
looks promising maybe you could work it to create its own ranking system based on the results of the games so we don't have to play on the blizz ladder anymore!!
Really nice, looks very handy. It needs a lot more people online of course but hopefully you keep this project going!
need a checkbox to select all maps.
this looks cool, just needs more people
This looks really cool, I hope it gains more publicity. :D
Awsome! I really hope more people will see this so it can get going!
i would love to try this tool, sounds like something that i was looking for.
be back with feedback.
I´m going to start using it as well from now on. Hope there are some people.
Nice website! This will be great for trying to overcome some of bnet's shortcomings.
Are automated tournaments a possibility in the future. Automated tournaments that seed according to GSL/MLG format so that players at home can experience a large format tournament at any skill level? That would be so cool.
right now 4 players online...little sad...i hope this will change in the evening hours. anyway, thank you very much OP
edit: join the "moregg" channel on bnet!
just logged in because i was wondering how this would work. looks great! instant bookmarked the page and will come back later when i got some time to play thanks a lot!
The closest we can get to BNet 1.0 with custom games' implementation, really cool to see someone has got interested in writing that stuff. Looking forward to seeing it becoming popular. Much kudos!
I'm online now, but there are only 3 people from EU :/ Gogogo guys, use this awesome platform!
Is it semidown? It just keeps connecting. Worked fine yesterday.
Does anyone use this? Server is empty for me but that might be because its 7am est.
You need too put this on the official forum and reddit too (if you havn't yet) so it gets more popular!!! I would love a function to have more than on Account assigned to my porfile and i would love to switch between lobbys ... and it would be nice if the profile number would only show to the people you joined a game with... but still: extremly good work!! :D
i just see
09:32:53 Connecting to server..
i suspect its because i am sitting behind a proxy server
its super nice, but sadly there is nearly never someone online in EU people goooooo online there
We need more people
The link in the OP is not working for me.
Woot, now I can finally stop leaving custom games over and over again just to find a perfect player my league and the race i want to face, and then get cheesed
This is a really good initiative, thumbs up big time to you
Done right could turn in to the new way of practicing, good luck!
This looks awesome, only negatives are there aren't many people on it atm, and the ladder maps need updating. =)
Love the idea, think it has a lot of potential but kind of has a chicken and egg problem - would love to see it get going though!
This is exactly what I'm missing in Bnet. Great Work! Sadly it seems there isn't anybody who's using this tool
You are a godsend. this is what not only sc2 needs, but battle.net 0.2 as well. thank you
This is amazing promote it everywhere so everybody can join.
just checked 6 people there :/
This is against TOS.
If you read it carefully you can't have your own matchmaking service tied to SC2 at all.
This has been tried many times and continually given a cease and desist.
Given time and having more people join it, this would be great and a lot easier than looking for specific matches on Bnet normally.
It this actually is against the TOS, then I'm pretty dissappointed.
The servers are down
