In no other sport is one required to play into the late hours of the night. He's also a secondary school student and probably had school in the morning. Cut him a break. Slave drivers want him to stay up playing Starcraft 24 hours a day...

Let me get this straight..... he's 45 minutes late for a match and then later refuses to play the finals....... but he doesn't disrupt tournaments? Are you sure that's what you wanted to say?

No, he wasn't 45 min late. He asked if could a break for eating, which he then got.

Wait wait wait.......He took a 45min break and THEN decided he was too tired to play and told the organizers to fuck themselves??

I'm pretty sure he never told anyone to go fuck themselves.

He didn't use those exact words but he said he was tired and going to bed, if they didn't want to wait till tomorrow to do the match then tough shit he's not playing.

He put himself in this predicament. He deserves the full brunt of our anger for playing through an entire tournament then saying he isn't gonna play the FINALS, the one fucking match that the entire tournament is based upon. It's one thing to forfeit some qualifiers or group matches or some shit but not the fucking FINALS of a tournament. He just screwed the fans, the community, the organizers, and prob shed esports in a bad light for sponsors.

He's single handedly taking esports down with him by setting a bad example and disrespecting his fans!!!!!!! His slavery must continue! For esports!!!!

Generations of slaves have done it! Why should he be different?

Le Mans 24h race would like a word with you...

I hate to repeat myself over and over again, but he chose to play that tournament knowing the schedule, for the winner Kas it was even worse as he was 1 timezone further, he chose to play another tournament before this one himself, he delayed the tournament himself and he only played a wimpy 11 games total that evening.

Bound to run into similar problems if they insist on organizing tournaments and events over the spawn of a few days. The long wait and the strain of playing on a computer for hours on end is pretty taxing. There's not much entertainment in a match where 1 player is worn out and plays at 50%, especially in a finals.

If he was that tired and had dual tournaments going on then he shouldn't have signed up in the first place. If he didn't expect to make it to the finals then why did he even enter the tournament, to lose? This is 100% Stephanos fault no way around it. Can you imagine the amount of flak the organizers would get from fans and sponsors if the day they had the finals they didn't and the had them on another day without telling anyone until they tuned in to watch?

I dont know why mods still keep this thread open, there's nothing good coming from it, only people expressing their hate towards Stephano. There surely must be a more important topic than a player forfeiting a tournament.

Why did you delete half of the post? And there are drivers in each car but the race doesn't end before 24h. I think I just got trolled...

3 drivers per car so they do take breaks.

You know that there is more than one driver per car in a 24h race, right? That you have 3 driver per team and car?

Not that i want to defend Stephano, but the 24h race would like to be left out of it, because its a bad example.

Even though I agree with you, your analogy is invalid. Le Mans is held annually. Furthermore, there are multiple drivers for each car.

However, I would like to say this is extremely unprofessional. Tournaments are more important than players. You just can't do this. I salute the tournament administration for making this tough but, in my opinion, right call.

Apparently, race cars drive themselves. No drivers, pit crew, managers, or even the safety crews needed....

Lol.. Are you for real??? Djokovic and Nadal were playing until 4 am the next day in the last AO finals. During the interviews, they were so tired they couldn't stand.. they brought them some chairs... both of them are real champions.

No one in a 24h race works 24h. No one. Not the pitcrew, not the drivers, not the safety crew, and especially not the managers.

A driver in a 24h race actually sleeps more than i do per 24h, so just drop that bad example.

You probably shouldn't read the thread lol. There were some people even praising him for it and saying they gained respect for him for forfeiting the finals of a tournament.

Oh wow, that's pretty f-ed up. I probably should stay away from this then heh. I feel e-sports has waaaaays to go in order to become legit. I mean if this shit happens without any serious repercussions, sponsors wouldn't exactly feel compelled to invest in prize money in tournaments if the participating players could just choose to log off before playing the finals.
chao.

Well he was offered the opportunity to play right away if I recall but he passed on it. (the guy above me beat me to it)

Even if he wasn't given that opportunity, I would have told him to go rest for an hour and I will contact him when his match is ready. There are ways to overcome his tiredness and to continue. As his friend I would have realized the significance of playing that match, not only because of what he can win but also so that we can avoid drama like this.

Stephano doesn't care about Drama, he never has, he never will. When you see him for real you wonder how he can play that fast and be so stoned ...

Apparently, that's not the only thing he doesn't care for...

Which just shows he is better adjusted than all of us.

Grab another example then. But the drivers only take breaks, and the best ones drive up to 14 hours out of those 24. Also, the point is not to say that we want SC2 24h a day, but THE RAPIST asked for an example of a sport where people do sports in the middle of the night. And, by necessity, a 24h race will require some driver to drive in the wee hours of the night... Good example, no?
