you are forgetting machine and Lzgamer? not A-teamers lol yeah thats my point! If they were only going for "a teamers" then why are incontrol, machine and lzgamer not being "kicked" of the team? iNcontroL should be obvious, hes a pillar to the SC community and a very marketable person and markets the EG brand well because of his attention and the Dallas finish. Lz and Machine are both marketable people as well and even though they don't get very many streamed matches or attention they go all the way back to the start of EG:SCBW.
I feel that Axlav is more marketable than LZGamer. My bet is that they acquired him later so his contract is still active. Can't see him in the team when his contract expires (unless he would bloom out as a player)

Axslav has improved a lot since he is in the EG house and he has one of the best protoss streams.
I think EG is making a mistake letting him go , he really deserves to be in a good team.

GL in the future they were never any good at sc2 2v2 lol. they won 1 league using 1 abusive cheese, as soon as someone watched a reply of them playing they instantly stopped winning. infact EG stopped using them as a pairing for things like the egmc. after hearing all that people like idra and incontrol said about how EG was building itself im really suprised by this. they had atleast heavily implied that EG was happy with their performance, and happy to have an unoffical B team/bigger roster for things like moral, team training, smaller leagues. now the article specifically says EG dropped them, they didnt ask to leave. kinda shocked. this leaves machine and incontrol as the last non superstar players on eg. incontrol obviously safe as a huge PR guy and team captain position but i gotta wonder what their plans are for machine. he attends some smaller american lans and was at CES for them, so maybe they want to model him on incontrol as another guy to help market sponsors with? who knows. seems like EG has dropped clan support for starcraft 2 (lol funny bnet joke!!!) they seem to be trying to up the 'professionalism' by being a full on team akin to a 'real' sport rather than a sponsored clan that most esports teams actually are. Some people have an odd definition of "superstar". As far as foreign eSprots is concerned, Incontrol is one of the biggest superstars we have, he just isn't a SC2 champion yet. Both the positive talk in the past and the kind words of separation now are all marketing. We will never know the intricacies of these releases, everything will be pure speculation... Unless someone from EG spills the beans, but i don't see that happening.
i think your the one with odd definition of superstar :o incontrol is great for EG, marketing machine. and i have 0 doubt they are happy with him. but come on. no ones seeding incontrol straight to code s.

maybe they are contributing more to preparing other players? we don't know whats going on behind the scenes but I imagine incontrol is there because he is a type of assistant manager and also a great coach. I've heard he is a really good mental coach as well as a great SC2 coach even for the pros. Machine is also a WORK HORSE, he is one of the best practice partners they have and will practice longer than the rest of the team. LZ I'm not sure, but if he isn't living in the team house then maybe it's not immediately apparent to the upper management how well he is improving. My guess is they want to keep the team as full as possible for practice reasons until they hire someone(s) new.

Sad situation for them.

Axslav told me this would happen at IEM NYC and EG was just waiting for their contracts to expire. You are going to see a lot of players let go this year, if they have unperformed, becuase contracts are usually 1 year. You won't see Incontrol let go because he does a lot of things besides just competing in starcraft 2. And also the management doesn't truely know how bad incontrol is. GL in life Axslav was a good dood.
|
LZGamer stays but Axlav goes? I don't how I feel about that, but best of luck to Axlav and Strifecro both (even if they leave the scene). Also best of luck to Machine and Demuslim, with the rate of foreign teams signing Koreans EG might have the roster to let them go like this next year.

Whether you like it or not, these teams are businesses and I believe this decision will inevitably lead to more growth within Esports as EG can allocate their money to players that they may feel are more deserving. That being said I too regret their decision to part but I wish all parties the best. Then you have to ask why incontrol is still on the team. Straight up due to personality? He's good publicity for the team, which is because of personality.

Not very surprising but still sad, especially about Axslav, i really like his play.

Yeah, I hate to say it, but I think Axslav is the better player but Incontrol is without a doubt one of their more important players... just not in the realm of competition (at least not yet.)
But again, I can see why they ultimately released axslav and strifecro. Its much more worthwhile to send incontrol to events and have, for example, German fans fall in love with his personality than it is to send axslav or strifecro who may get a few positions higher in tournament ranking but have no media coverage.

Do you know when LZGamers and Machines contracts are expiring?
that's actually really easy to find out, just look at when they join, and their contract should be out about a year later

That team house is getting empty. I guess this is the fundamental difference between korean and western teams. Their teams are just bigger and the less than stellar people get accommodation and food for free provided they practice like the rest of the team. When foreign players complain that they cant get good practice partners the reason is because foreigner teams dont actively try to develop players, they would rather buy them high or pay for someone else to do it (eg/slayers).

Whatttt didn't see this coming at all. Best of luck to both

I thought they were only on the team to provide eg with a 2v2 team, I wasnt expecting them to leave or anything. I didnt expect results from them because I thought their only job was 2v2s.

Can't say i'm surprised. If only they stirred up drama like other players do in order to be 'marketable'.
GL HF guys in your future endeavours
edit: don't like the title of this thread, it implies they left on their own volition as opposed to EG letting them go. Suppose it doesn't matter in the end.
