IMO it's kinda shallow to dislike a team just because they dropped a player. Of course it is your opinion, but if you look at it from EG's perspective they haven't seen many results from Strifecro compared to their other players and frankly it might not be worth the money for him to remain on the team from a business standpoint. Whether you like it or not, these teams are businesses and I believe this decision will inevitably lead to more growth within Esports as EG can allocate their money to players that they may feel are more deserving. That being said I too regret their decision to part but I wish all parties the best.

Machine arguably has more 'publicity' than stifecro or axlav and the same can be same about LZ. LZ spent two weeks commentating for NASL and has followed up with more commentating gigs afterward. I'd say both of these players streams are more popular as well.

If they were only going for "a teamers" then why are incontrol, machine and lzgamer not being "kicked" of the team? iNcontroL should be obvious, hes a pillar to the SC community and a very marketable person and markets the EG brand well because of his attention and the Dallas finish. Lz and Machine are both marketable people as well and even though they don't get very many streamed matches or attention they go all the way back to the start of EG:SCBW. I'm not too surprised by this news, it kind of seemed like it was going to happen. I hope Axslav still streams a lot though. If I was in their shoes the worst part would be having to move out of the EG Lair. :/

Machine is probably here to stay but you can't seriously argue for Lz's staying on with EG. He may continue commentating, but his days at EG are numbered if he doesn't show any serious results (which seems very unlikely at this point). I think Axslav's stream was more popular than Lz's too.

Some people have an odd definition of "superstar". As far as foreign eSprots is concerned, Incontrol is one of the biggest superstars we have, he just isn't a SC2 champion yet. Both the positive talk in the past and the kind words of separation now are all marketing. Saying "we kicked these 2 players cause they aren't doing well" would cost them fans and support of a certain demographic, the size of which is difficult to determine. And while on team, saying "we are thinking about getting rid of these guys" is not good for sponsors, reputation or moral. We will never know the intricacies of these releases, everything will be pure speculation... Unless someone from EG spills the beans, but i don't see that happening.
