Nice, maybe this will mean that SK is getting serious about SC2

My totally uninformed and amateurish assumptions are that it is easier for MC to play in big, non-korean tournaments when he's with SK. And I think we all can agree that MC could make more money with less effort outside of korea (I know, GSL has the biggest prize pool, but winning GSL is about a million times harder than winning any other tournament). So I'm assuming we'll see a lot more MC in foreign tournaments in the future. Which, of course, is awesome.

You can't fault someone for making more $$ if the market is going to pay them that...

Sure, thing is, if because of this he loses the practice regimen, the team house, the practice partners, and his play starts to fade away, in the long run, he'll get less money. It's shortsighted, maybe he wants to retire soon and do something else.

F-that. He knew he's the only player in the world capable of being a one man team. BOSSTOSS.

Umm ... why are so many people saying that it is not a good move?
Do you guys know at least a tiny bit of how korean teamhouses work? Could you maybe imagine in your wildest dreams that MC got in contact to the weastern way of living and maybe likes it?
Did you guys ever considered that MC is a guy who likes life and all the nice side storys of it which he maybe can't enjoy cause of being in oGs?

Do you know how team houses work? No team house = Less winning. That's the way it has always been.

And your tangent about MC wanting his own life? So did Rain, when's the last time you heard about him? If he wants to do his own thing that's fine, but I guarantee you, he will not be winning jack shit in the Korean scene ever again. If you need examples:
-StarTale, even though they have a house, they're pretty lax with their schedule. Look at all those great Code S finishes they had...
-SlayerS house operates like a typical BW teamhouse and look at what they have for it: a two-time GSL champ who also won an MLG, MMA. GanZI, who placed second in the Team Ace Inv, and the semi's in Oct, and currently in the Ro16 in Jan. Puzzle placed in the round of 8 in Nov, Coca was in the Ro 16 in Nov before he was DQ'ed. Boxer, possibly the oldest player in SC2 and who has shoulder problems, is in Code S. Taeja has won uber amounts of Korean weeklies, and holds one of the highest ELO peaks. Overall they have the most players in the GSL. Also, two GSTL titles.
-oGs also operates like a typical BW house, and they have results to show for it. Look at the amount of players they have in the GSL, and how well past players have done (Topu T.T)

It's all fine and dandy that MC wants to lead his own life, but don't get angry at his fans for wanting him to do whats best for him as an SC2 player.
#1 MMA fan! I like you too Taeja. Still patiently waiting for the Crown Prince to become the King.

Not be a troll or anything but as i read this, I think they just give MC a lot more money then oGs does... or this whole team switching would make absolutely no sense. I mean MC will live on his own and not train in a teamhouse anymore...

Where did you get all this info on his new practice setup?

Saw it coming miles away ^^
Joking ofc.

We all know that players switch teams. It's just like a regular sport: a team offers better work/living conditions and the player judges them and chooses the best for him. Nothing new but it's always a shock when a player that embodies a team we love leaves for another.

Sinatra would say: 'That's Life'.

edit - For all the people saying that MC is a 'sellout' please drop that argument because that's irrelevant. Think outside E-Sports for a moment. EVERY PLAYER that you like or love seeing play that you imediately associate to a specific team played in other teams. Everyone of them. That's how things work.

It says in the OP he's leaving the team house and will start living on his own. Plus SK doesn't have any other players.

This has probably been said but I'll throw it out there... I would assume SK are going to pick up a bunch of these bw pros swapping over thus giving MC practice partners? Just a random thought that could be possible?

Hopefully it works out for both MC and oGs. I thought SK ditched the couple SCII pros they had months ago. Maybe they're interested in forming an actual roster again instead of formerly sponsoring Nada and MC at foreign events. Best of luck to all involved.

SK.MC is harder to say than oGs.MC, therefore I'm against this. t.t

No, but seriously.. What. The. Fuck. Shortsighted career-move, if you ask me.

T_T. It might be all about going to foreign tournaments, you know nothing about the deal. Just b/c he wont be staying in the team house doesnt mean he will practice less/or with lesser players. If this is what he wants he will probably just benefit from it.
