Where did you get all this info on his new practice setup?

It says in the OP he's leaving the team house and will start living on his own.

Doesn't say anything about his practice regimen or losing practice partners though.

you can win hundreds of small-time (skillwise) foreign tournaments and make a million off sc2, but you will never be recognised as the best player if you don't win in korea. perhaps just the most financially successful one.

don't know, MC has his own financial security to consider, and we are in no place to judge that for him. that being said, it's not a good move for his playing ability, which is of course what most of his fans care about.
There is no such thing is "e-sports". There is Brood War, and then there is crap for nerds.

if this were wc3 it would warrant the whole starwars speech about bringing balance to the force etc.. but in sc2 thats reserved for eg buying players, guess we are going to have to go with;

This has probably been said but I'll throw it out there... I would assume SK are going to pick up a bunch of these bw pros swapping over thus giving MC practice partners? Just a random thought that could be possible?

I don't think SK has the contacts to pull that off. Also the people coming fresh from BW wouldn't really trust foreigner teams, I would assume, and prefer some established Kr house (at first).

The whole point of a teamhouse is to have practice partners right next to you, I'd speculate that by moving to SK and leaving teamhouse that he loses all the oGs practice partners.

By moving out of a teamhouse the practice by definition becomes worse. He can have all the practice partners he wants, it's still not the same as living with the best players and having them around 24/7.
Having said that, I do think he will move in with some people or wait for an SK team/house/partnership.

Interesting that a source on reddit leaked this yesterday. The same source leaked Zenio joining TL before it was "out there".

http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/odqot/mc_leaves_ogs_joins_sk/

According to this MC will be earning 10% of what EG pays Huk.

Probably should take it with a grain of salt, HuK's salary was never revealed.

Neither was MC moving to SK or Zenio joining TL.

Obviously this guy knows shit othes don't ...

Zenio was known WAY before it was announced.

I got hints of something like this from Reis, but that's about it. I was still blown away by this.

In what way was it known? Pretty sure it was all speculation in the thread about that picture thingy...

Was it known before the guy posted it on reddit?

Some random people matched Zenios picture with the silluet that TL released. They were 100% identical.
Then Artosis made a stupid and said in a GSL cast that Zenio was joining TL, when the announcement was still days away.

I don't know where in the timeline this mysterious reddit guy revealed his "inside knowledge" but the identity of the new TL player was known well before it was official.

Of course people will play with him, that's pretty obvious. But living in a team house means a stricter practice regimen, and constant SC2 strategy/build/timing/macro/etc discussion, while it also has the advantage of a coach.

Even if people from oGs still practice with him, it's not the same, it's detrimental to practice. He might soon dissapear from the GSL if he and SK don't have something special prepared. Which is why I think it's a shortsighted move, or MC is aiming for something other than the GSL.

Guys, your saying that he needs a teamhouse to practice, but Nestea & MVP dont live at the teamhouse either.. so i doubt its that big of a deal, unless all the oGs players are not allowed to practice with MC

Some months back MC said he needed to stop travelling to practice and focus on GSL. And now he sold himself to SK for more foreign appearance lol. I guess no more GSL title for him
