For e-athletes I think we can objectively say that they aren't as good looking
First, regular sports require you to be healthy, because if you're not healthy, you can't play. You'd never turn pro if you weren't fit. Second, there are plenty of ugly pro sports players. Get the defensive line of any football (American) team up on stage. These people are not hired for their looks. Third, most people when playing their games look ugly as hell. The glamor shots of pro sports players are not taken during play. Most players do not apply makeup and so forth when going onto the field, as sweat would make short work of that. I don't see this as a problem that needs to be solved. There are some nice-looking pro-gamers outside of Korea. And there are some not-so-nice-looking ones. Just let the players play. E-sports should grow on the merrit of its players; to grow on something else (like their attractiveness) does a disservice to the game itself. Would you really want e-sports to make it big because the players are hot? Or because people actually like the game and level of competition?
You have to be healthy to play Starcraft as well, that's no secret. And sure e-sports shouldn't be big only because the players are hot. But if you get a sexy shot of Huk and throw it on the cover of Newsweek, you can bet his looks are gonna pull in people that otherwise wouldn't give a damn. I'm ok with that.

Other than Major name me a foreign pro that is just grossly unattractive. I'd have to go find a list with pictures included to find out because I don't know any other ones who are though I am sure there are plenty.
There are plenty of geeky-looking or overweight Korean pros too, I don't understand the OP.

Wow was that Major reference necessary?

Not that I give a shit about how people look, I want to watch sick games not a cat walk. But really, most of the top pros look really good, atleast in the cs/quake/sc2 scene.
|
the foreign community, as a whole, can never accept how Asian men look, it's just a cultural difference.. maybe in 100 years when sc5 is out with a 1 billion community pop and everyone is mixed race, then people can be more understanding instead of calling it "homo".
edit: LOL just saw this.. http://www.studcraft2.com/players tasteless you handsome guy, you.
edit2: If you don't know who he is, look up Bisu (bw) on google images. he could clearly be an actor or singer if he had (and maybe he does already) those talents. if he transferred over to sc2, imagine how many more female fans sc2 scene would have.

I don't think the image of gamers will ever change unless esports gets on TV. Until that happens, people will believe gamers are nerds and slobs.

Weird ass post. I'm pretty sure everyone in the foreign community will agree that NaDa an BoxeR are sexy mofos.
Also, who the hell on TL doesn't know who Bisu is?

Also if we are talking about sex appeal we got this
![[image loading]](http://wakkawa.iseenothing.com/temppic/incontrolidra.jpg) Show me a korean pro gamer image that matches that !

I could see naniwa bringing sex appeal.. like wearing short-shorts and wearing an open shirt that show off his hairy chest.

that pool is obi biased I mean Tasteless should be the defintion of handsome pro gamer and how can MKP be like in the 20's? day 9 beating MKP? that is hilarious, maybe back when he was doing sc1 but def not now

the gamer stereotype is just that all gamers are fat and lazy, which is not completely inaccurate as I would believe there are more bigger people among gamers than other sports enthusiasts.
Also, the culture is completely different between Korea and North American entertainment. In things such as music, you will see anybody come out with music as long as someone will buy their music, but in Korea, it is extremely difficult to debut through a major record company if you aren't considered good looking. (One huge example is Rain, (speed racer, ninja assassin) as well as being the king of Korean pop for the last 10 years. He was rejected from almost all record companies because he didn't have double eyelids and people thought that he wasn't good looking enough)

There is no "we'".

they should really add a neither option on studcraft. no offense but a lot of progamers are not very attractive. most just seem nerdy but if i were a girl i would totally date demuslim or keen.
|
This studcraft website is totally not good... Boxer is not #1 and Nada is only #5. Who are you kidding with TLO at the top... I'd put tasteless #3 though >.>
