Just like he owned NASL and WCG? Stop hyping Idra and Sen. They have shown nothing in Korea.

Idra did very well in GSL and held a code S spot for a long time and he is better now so to be honest he can do it. Its just a case of his ZvT being really well prepared and working with slayers who have some amazing terran players he should be able to do it.

Tier 2 seems the easiest in my opinion. A lot of those old players, who are not as good now.

Who knows, after Kas beat mkp i won't be surprised if idra and sen win a match here and there.

but i'd put my money on them getting their asses kicked hard. an mc-idra match would be hilarious, or an idra-forgg.

and to the guys who think idra and sen "qualified" of some sort: no they didn't. gomtv wanted to give some foreigners code s spot but based on their subjective opinion, not any kind of qualifying system- ofc they wanted to give the spots to good players, but they don't deserve the spot more than like some dozen other players from na/eu. they wanted to give spots to naniwa and stephano and jinro, sen and idra were secondary choices. they just picked 2 good foreigners that they liked, not the 2 most deserving. to naniwa they wanted to give it based on like 6 games played that could be called succesful in the past half a year, with games like his shady cannon rush on metalopolis... and they thought naniwa is more deserving than idra. so quit saying he is deserving, no he isn't he got lucky and most likely will get manhandled hilariously.

Eh, I agree T4 looks a lot scarier than T3.

Hmm, curious why Idra is rated higher than Sen. Feels like its just because Idra's got a much bigger reputation. Sen's up in total prize money, tourneys and is 5-4 vs. Idra. (I'm a biased Taiwanese fanboy btdubs)

Liking the race breakdown this GSL too. Well, more that the others. Terran is less than half! xD

it's from gsl points, idra participated in 2 code s iirc and sen in none

Maybe he meant he had a long run (RO8). But yeah, only was in 1 season of Code S and did decently in the open seasons.

Everyone's talking about ForGG and that's fair enough as he is really talented and will be a big chance to progress far but I reckon the other guy that's gone under the radar is Brown, who has been on an absolute tear. I don't think I've seen the guy lose a game yet from memory and he was the other one who really stood out for me. FWIW I agree that tier 4 would probably beat tier 3 in a match.

I have to second this. In a time where Protoss is struggling against Zerg, I remember watching a game which Brown crushed LosirA in a PvZ, which is pretty insane. Haven't watch enough games of his in other match-ups though.

I think the issue here with GSL points is that mediocre players who have been here a long time but always languished at the edge of Code S will have higher ranking points than up-and-coming, or recently switching players like Brown and Fin who have not played many games in GSL Code anything. This is a small flaw but it would be unfair to seed those players higher just because they have been playing well or had experience in BW or whatever, these are small faults that will be arbitraged away as time goes on.

So a consistent tournament that has recurring editions shouldn't seed players based on their performance in previous editions of their tournament?

What should they seed people based on, then?

It's the only consistent way they can do that is fair and all, but it doesn't account for abilities of people who haven't played in GSL Code A/S. That said, it's only a bit of an issue because SC2 is a very new game and many breakthrough players come out while previous top performers slump and perform poorly. Again, it's not a big deal and they will prove themselves over time, and we get to see groups of death where the current best players face off the BW/future best players. Again, time is the great equalizer.

Plus I did say it would be unfair in any other way, the GSL system isn't a perfect reflection of players' skills but what in the world is perfect anything of anything anyway?

That said the discretionary Code S seeds are not exactly in line with fair (performance in foreign tournaments and Q1 2011 GSL are not really comparable to recent GSL performances) but it means we get to watch more foreigners (get stomped, most likely).

I hope IdrA does well in Code S, I always enjoy seeing him do well.

I especially hope we don't see him leave a game too soon that decides whether or not he stays Code S, advances etc.
It seems he's really gotten a hold on his mental deal lately, and if he can get over his mentality totally (see IdrA vs NesTea and then IdrA vs Leenock) I'd expect to see him preform extremely well.

So far they (+ huk and jinro) are the only foreigners to have shown anything in korea.

Also it may have been just 1 or 2 seasons of code S, but he did well enough in the open tournaments to get into code S in the first place, which still counts as doing quite well in korea.
