I dont think its at all unreasonable that desrow fans would have to sign up for new accounts on teamliquid, because the stereotypical desrow fan (from stream chat) isnt the kind of person you typically find sticking around for long on TL. They would probably either hate TL 'because the nazi mods kill free speech', or already have gotten banned on their previous account.

If someone could figure out the IP of all of them we could perhaps find a match? xD

I'm pretty confident that there's something fishy. The only people I've ever heard cheering on desRow are probably actually desRow.

Either way, GL to him, I will always support someone looking to become better at this game, even if they have some... issues.

Yeah I've noticed this a lot too, his usual response to it is that he has a lot of followers who are not really into teamliquid.
It still seems dodgy to me, anyway GL in korea.

The short of it: desRow has a lot of fans on his stream, we just hyped the announcement over there.
So obviously a lot of people will come and cheer him on - even make a new accoutn for that - .
If you guys are so adamant in finding out, by all means ask a mod to verify the IPs.
You can watch desRow streaming right this instant, so if he is able to make all these posts AND play at a GM level,
he has the most insane multi-task ability I have ever seen.

Back on-topic: Congratz Marc! I'm sure you'll improve greatly in South-Korea.
And thanks to everyone saying they like my banner <3

I agree, except the fact the he is playing at GM level. He is low GM on NA which by most players standards means he is well under GM level, maybe high master.

yeah i watched him stream few times and his macro slips literally every game (1000-2000 rescources at not even close to max), he doesn't use stargate play at all, etc, his forcefields are pretty bad. he's not bad overall but too many obvious flaws that need fixing before even dreaming about code a;)

like your argument bro
he cant be gm because he doesnt play stargate and the game is completely broken because he can be in gm anyway OMG

srsly i dont know why everyone is flaming him for being bad or something since its clearly his goal to improve by goint to korea

i don't recall arguing against anything, these were observations. he even said he doesn't use stargate when i asked him in the chat. that's like a zerg not using hydras, ever. or a terran not making banshees. consciously suppressing versatility. not the sign of a great player imo.

he is gm as i recall but korean master players that i see on streams seem to play better than him.

korea is great and all, but he's not quite there yet in skill imo to make real use of such training

He obviously won't make it into Code A. This move just doesn't make sense. I hope Desrow views this as a vacation and doesn't train too hard in Korea.

I was going to korea regardless of if I had a team or not. Blame me not them. I'll be streaming around the same hours when I'll be going into the gom house. If I manage to get in a team/clan house my schedule will obviously change but I don't see myself as a personality/entertainer. I know I have success because of my personality/ and that I entertain on stream but ultimately I want to be a top foreigner Protoss. I already play 8-10hours at home, why not do it on the best ladder and get a shot at a clan/pro house at the same time?

Oh and I'm paying for most of the trip and maxfrag is helpîng me as well.

I just don't see where the negative attitude is coming from. It would be one thing if he were somehow using fan money (taking donations, or something). It seems like he found investors that would like to see him train in Korea for some time. Whether or not he'll qualify for code A does not determine the success of this trip.

Anyway, best wishes. This guy might not be the foreigner hope currently, but it seems like he put a lot of effort into finding accomodations/investors for this trip. Takes initiative and perseverence after being turned down from the team houses.

Good luck desrow, I'm not your biggest fan but I respect foreigners who try it in Korea! Don't worry about the details just practice practice practice

The negative attitude comes from the fact that desrow is also pretty hostile person and he will answer to every provocation and feed the trolls. Never understood why he always fed the trolls. Who ever watched his stream knows he has some qualities :D that could really anoy people. Please, don't get offended, it's just what i felt watching your stream from time to time.

But really, Desrow, you deserve support for what you are doing and every person who's right in their mind will wish you great success in Korea. No matter if they like you or not so much like you. :D
Reality hits you hard bro.

Is he training in Korea with any particular team? I don't see how him relocating is going to help him train better.

At all the haters talking about low thread post accounts. I know that this is only like my 5th post now, because I don't come here for fun to communicate with others or troll or whatever, but I can tell you that I only came here to support Desrow because I watch his stream on a regular basis. Maybe that is a similar situation for many other people. So you can take it as him trying to boost his own success, but I see it as him expanding many people's boundaries in e-sports by making them familiar with sites such as this or Reddit. GL in Korea Desrow!

A lot of people are subscribed to combatex because we like to watch him crash and burn. He's a troll, and it's extremely entertaining. I'm not subscribed to him because I particularly like him, but because it's funny. I don't know anyone who would sign up to a forum to defend him. I also haven't run into anyone who is a rabid desRow fan outside of single digit post users on threads about him.

hhmm, that's a different approach that what we're used to seeing.

Sending a relatively unknown to South Korea, hoping that he comes back as a legitimate competitor for international events.

Normally teams only send already proven and established players.

Very risky move, hope it ends up paying up for LgN...
