There's no doupt hes a good player, one of the top foreigners. I'm not sure if the OP is a 100% serious, or if there's some trollin' mixed in... But this kind of fanboyism is the reason why I root against him. Stephano fans tend to get out of control way too often.

Stephano is really damn good, but until he goes to Korea, he will never be better than them.

Speed up to the actual tournament. Korean Code S players are suddenly rolled by this French Zerg, and I said rolled. Not just because he had a weird infestor plus really highly upgraded lings combo against Terran, but also because he played a weird style of ZvP that either outright killed Protosses or slowly constricted them until Broodlords make players like EG_Incontrol cry about how sad his race was. ZvZ was equally as impressive for not only me, but anyone watching him.

Stephano went on to win that tournament, and not without some insane memories like the Mothership vortex by Kiwkaki on Shattered Temple. At the end of it call Stephano decisively eliminated the following Koreans from his path:
FXO_Lucky (4-0 in the finals)
Ogs_TheSTC
FXO_Inori
MVP_Violet
Slayers_Boxer
Slayers_MMA

This french Zerg, who had been dominating EU ladder and even placed #1, was unbeknowst by other pro players. EG_Incontrol even admitted he had no idea who this guy was, although he crashed through waves of Code S korean players and made his wins look so convincing.

The only Code S player in that list is MMA and Stephano didn't beat him at the LAN, but at the online qualifiers for the LAN, which for MMA was played at something like 6 AM, at which point MMA had already qualified for the tournament after staying up all night playing qualifiers, the last of which being a very long and difficult series against July which he won with a comeback. And Stephano didn't roll him, he won 2-1.

Btw, Stephano did play a Code S Korean in the LAN, he played alive and got rolled 2-0 in the group stages...

thank you sir for having some sense

I'm going to list 5 players that are better than Stephano, and I don't need evidence to back this up

Mvp
NesTea
Leenock
MMA
Jjakji

I could go on, but I feel this thread should have already been closed.

Why should this thread be closed? Agreed that it is pretty bad, yet I prefer this thread over the thousand and one "why *some broodwar pro who noone has ever seen playing starcraft2* would be the best in starcraft2".

The subject doesn't excuse the content.

If someone presents a nice thought out analysis explaing something and backing it up with facts, the thread deserves a chance no matter what the subject is. This is anything but that though.

Claiming that Stephano is the best in the world because he beat four Code A/B koreans at IPL and then took one game against fOrGG on the ladder is at best utterly ignorant or much more likely just a retarded troll. Either way it should be closed.

Destiny, Spanishiwa, Morrow and Machine in the top 10? And above IdrA? Not sure if serious.

I love watching him play, and he's no doubt one of the best zergs in the world, and certainly top 3 outside Korea. Just how much further that will take him remains to be seen, but I'm a fan so

There is absolutely no content in the OP. If you want to make a post about Stephano, you could at least describe what makes him unique, about his playstyle, his personnality or anything.

This really looks like a thread made specifically to provoke the Stephano haters.

I think you are right, in bw sen beat day9 with his protoss, and knowing that day9 is the best player in the world (in all games, I will make a thread about this to prove it, but for exemple he finished amnesia, that's impressive) and knowing how harder bw was, sen would have no problem to be in the top 10 multiple times. But I think that mc doesn't deserve it, he lost to DRG and we all know that every foreigner zerg is better than DRG, because he never took first place of a GSL (which is one of the reasons why fruitdealer is totaly better than him), and that's the only thing which counts in korea to prove that a player is good.

I m a big fan of every people I mentioned here btw <3

A non-trolling top 10 zerg list:

Tier 1: 1-2 -- Leenock; Nestea.
Tier 2: 3-5 -- DRG, Losira(?), Coca
Tier 3: 6-10 -- July, Stephano, Sen(?), Curious, Lucky(?)

It was actually harder to compose a top 10 Zerg list than I thought. So many zerg players seemed so awesome a short time ago but have played poorly of late -- Losira and July especially.
To be is to be the value of a bound variable.

this kind of topic definitely needs a warning because it is downright inflammatory for no good reason.

during their prime boxer, july and nada were untouchable. they have stood at the pinnacle of starcraft, invented (and re-invented) the game, and became the face of professional gaming in korea. they have nothing much to prove in sc2, an easier game because of many factors.

these legends invented strategies. their influence throughout the scene was completely dominant. before boxer, nobody thought playing terran was a good idea. before july, nobody would fear muta harass. name me one player in sc2 who can change the way the game is played. it sure as hell isn't stephano.
There is no such thing is "e-sports". There is Brood War, and then there is crap for nerds.
