Please make sure to read the statement from Naniwa that is linked in the full article before commenting. |

Wow that was quick....
Bad news for Complexity losing such a talented player but....
AWESOME FOR QUANTIC!! Their roster is getting scarier now..... GL Nani!

If we're to go by Naniwa's statement he's simply following his ambition in choosing a team that's focusing at competition in Korea and offers the to him perfect perfect practice partner. It looks like he discussed it with coL and agreed with them that they don't share the same vision. It's just the "...not share complexity's core values" part of coL's statement that makes it look like a grudge, which is probably what it's not.

Woops, that makes more sense. I was wondering how someone could miss Complexity's sponsors when they're pretty much all over their website.
Quantic has suddenly seemed to have this huge surge of cash to throw around at players.

Did you read what he said on reddit?
"We're sending TriMaster to Korea any week now and Johan is well aware of that. I'm not going to get into a public argument and wish him the very best but this was a one way decision. His contract was being sold (to Quantic or someone else) whether he approved or not."
Which translates to: I don't want to say anything bad, but I'm going to proceed to say that we don't care what our players want. Or he was STRONGLY implying that Naniwa had pissed off the team. Either way, he was getting into a public argument in the very statement where he said he didn't want to. And terse little laws like "whether he approved or not" imply a management style of which I don't approve.
He really should have just kept his mouth shut there. Or at least not contradicted himself within two sentences.

Some talented koreans don't have a team right now.
If we estimate that nani salary was quite good, they could maybe even pick 2 new players

I hope he still has some good training partners and doesn't have to play with the Quanitc guys.
There is nothing to be sad about imho, Naniwa is happy switching, coL is happy getting some money out of him and Quantic can boost its roster by a huge amount =)

i think he meant quantic?

why has noone seen this coming? i would have thought everyone has seen it coming, after the fact of nani bm'ing so hard at MLG and putting coL in a very awkward position
|
serious lol at the concept of this in any way shape or form being the fault of compelxity and not naniwa given dude's history of BM and the god awful way he presented himself at mlg... he won what....4 or 5 games and got 2nd place? dude will flop in code s, and complexity knows this. not worth keeping around for the bad pr. never thought id see a foreigner get booed down in favor of a korean at any mlg event. thats how bad it is.

Best of luck to all of the parties involved. I know Nani has a bad reputation in terms of his personality but he really has made an effort to change this year. If you actually read his statement it just seems like he wanted to team up with Sase and a team that has more presence in Korea than just him. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Naniwa bmed IMNestea. IM parted way with Quantic. Quantic purchased Naniwa.
Now it's all clear.

i didn't see that coming, but i could see that naniwa doesnt share the same values and goals as complexity aims for complexity is probably looking for more people like mike ross and gootecks

The really funny thing is that Quantic badmouthed Naniwa a bit after Naniwa BMed NesTea at Providence, hahaha.

This is awesome news! The two best swedish toss-players on the same team in Korea practising together will be great!
EDIT: And can people please stop trying to create drama over every singe player tranfer? At least read the full article first!

I'd imagine Naniwa didn't want to do a lot of community outreach and PR stuff, something complexity probably wants to grow more seeing as their big rivals EG are the kings of 'outside the game' content creation. Naniwa probably wants to be left alone to train and only train and that was a problem for coL. Of course, pure speculation but it seems reasonable.
Anyway, I love Naniwa so gl to wherever he goes in the future.
